She Left She Thrived She’s Worth Billions novel Chapter 260

Melanie and Preston emerged from the building, one after the other.

The first thing Melanie noticed was the black Rolls-Royce up ahead.

It was the latest model Phantom—so luxurious it was hard to ignore, even if she tried.

Although the residents of Rosevale Heights were all wealthy and influential, this was the first time Melanie had seen this particular model in the complex.

And it was parked right in front of her building.

Seeing Preston emerge, Philip got out of the car. But before the name "Mr. Whitmore" could leave his lips, he met Preston's sharp, falcon-like gaze.

As Preston's sole assistant, being able to guess his boss's intentions instantly was an essential skill.

A single glance was all it took for Philip to understand—

He needed to leave. Now.

He had originally been summoned to drive Preston to the office.

In the blink of an eye, Philip was back in the latest model Rolls-Royce Phantom and driving away.

Melanie tilted her head, confused.

*Did the driver of that luxury car just get out and then get right back in without doing anything?*

*Did he go to the wrong place?*

Melanie couldn't help but smile wryly, thinking how rare it was to see such a scatterbrained driver.

And so, Preston rode in Melanie's car to his company—

The Stellaris PharmaTech branch office.

"You can just drop me off here. Thank you."

Preston got out of the car and looked at Melanie through the open window, his eyes full of affection.

"Don't mention it. You drove me last night, I drove you today. It's just returning the favor."

As Melanie spoke, Preston reached out with a slender, pale hand and beckoned her closer. He then leaned down, moving closer.

Not understanding, Melanie subconsciously leaned out of the car window as well.

She thought he was going to whisper something to her.

Instead, Preston's devastatingly handsome face grew larger and larger in her vision.

Then, her lips felt a sudden warmth.

Melanie froze.

In broad daylight, she had just been kissed by Preston?!

Before Melanie could push him away, Preston pulled back on his own.

It wasn't a deep kiss, just a light peck.

But it left Melanie's lips burning as if they were on fire.

“Now we’re even.” Preston gave her a rare, devastatingly handsome smile before turning to stride toward the building.
