As Dominic spoke, a proud expression crossed his face, as if he really had been the one to brave the fire and rescue Melanie.
“I know how much you value our new anti-cancer drug project, and I understand that everything you do is for our new company. So… I took the liberty of arranging for reporters and streamers to be here. I wanted them to get an exclusive interview as soon as you woke up, to ride the wave of this doting-husband story and give our Hale Health Center a major boost…”
Dominic was being conservative with his words.
In fact, the company had already taken off.
Not only had the Hale Health Center received more attention and praise from both within and outside the industry, but the Hale Group’s stock had also soared, hitting its daily trading limit right after the market opened today.
Gregory was ecstatic.
Contacting the reporters and streamers had been Gregory’s suggestion to Dominic—
“Melanie nearly getting burned to death this time turned out to be a blessing in disguise. It’s a huge help to our Hale family. You can’t miss out on such a great business opportunity!”
Of course, Dominic would never let Melanie hear Gregory’s original words.
“Mom and Dad also called to ask how you are. Your father came by twice, but you were still unconscious then.”
Melanie listened quietly to Dominic.
When he talked about how the Hale Group was making a fortune from her accident, he couldn't help but gesticulate wildly, his face alight with excitement.
“I’m a little tired. I want to sleep some more.”
Melanie cut him off before he could finish.
“Oh, sorry, sorry. I was being too loud. You just woke up, you should be resting.”
After he spoke, Dominic made a show of tucking her in. As he left the room, he gave her a lingering, reluctant look over his shoulder.
The door closed firmly.
Standing in the hallway, Dominic let out a long breath.
Melanie didn’t seem to be acting strangely, so she probably wasn’t angry with him.
