She Left She Thrived She’s Worth Billions novel Chapter 307

“Okay, then. Thanks for waiting. I’ll hurry,” Melanie said.

Melanie hung up, organized her files, and prepared to meet Bryant and Elina.

At the Grand Imperial Hotel.

Dominic’s enthusiasm lasted for about ten minutes before he started feeling like he was sitting on pins and needles again.

What if…

What if Melanie needed the whole night to calculate the data?

What if…

What if she was still working on it in the early hours of the next morning?

His spirits sank the more he thought about it, and a sense of foreboding began to creep in.

After waiting for a third hour, he called Melanie again.

She was still working overtime.

“Honey, are you still waiting for me at the hotel?”

“Uh… yeah…”

Dominic hesitated.

“Are you getting impatient? Do you not want to wait for me anymore?”

“No, no, it’s just…”

Dominic couldn’t bring himself to finish the sentence.

He had just made that grand promise that he would wait for Melanie no matter how long it took.

But now, he was already thinking of backing out.

He couldn’t just sit here and wait indefinitely!

How long would this even take?

“How about… you focus on your work tonight, and we can reschedule?”

“But I was really looking forward to it! Please, honey, just wait a little longer for me!”

He hadn't expected to hear her plead so sweetly, and his heart instantly softened.

“Okay, okay… I’ll wait a bit longer. But you have to be as quick as you can!”

“Mhm, I’m trying.”

In the end, Dominic waited until the hotel restaurant closed for the night.

Unable to wait any longer, he had no choice but to arrange with Melanie to celebrate properly another day.

The line rang a few times before it was picked up.

“Evelyn, what are you doing right now?”

At Rosecrest Villas.

Evelyn lay in bed holding her phone. Beside her, Lila was already fast asleep, breathing softly.

“I just put Lila to sleep. What’s up?” Evelyn asked, feigning ignorance.

It was the Valentine's Day, and Dominic was calling her this late. She knew exactly what he wanted.

“I booked a room at the Grand Imperial Hotel. I’ll send you the location. Come over now.”

It wasn't a question but more of a command. Dominic was sure Evelyn would come.

He'd already booked the room, and it was non-refundable. It would be a waste not to use it.

Evelyn was silent for a moment on the other end before replying.

“Okay.”

Hanging up, a triumphant smile appeared on her face.

As she expected, the person Dominic wanted to spend the Valentine's with was still her, not Melanie.
