She Left She Thrived She’s Worth Billions novel Chapter 321

“You flatter me, Mr. Grayson. I was just doing my job.”

Melanie’s poised and humble demeanor left a good impression on the entire inspection team.

After the audit concluded, everyone stood at the entrance of the R&D center. Mr. Grayson handed Melanie an invitation.

“There’s a seminar tomorrow night at the Xavorn Convention Center on cancer research and exploration… I think you should represent the Hale Group. It’s perfect timing, since your new anti-cancer drug is about to be launched. How about you go and show those Xavorn giants what they’re really up against?”

Melanie was surprised by Mr. Grayson’s competitive spirit and accepted the invitation with a smile.

Out of the corner of her eye, she glanced toward the shadows between the buildings.

A figure was standing there.

From Melanie’s angle, she couldn’t see the person’s face.

But she had a gut feeling that this person, lurking furtively in the shadows, was Evelyn.

That made everything clear.

It was Evelyn who had tipped off Caroline, goading her into causing a scene during the on-site inspection of the new drug.

Her motive was obvious: to create a bad impression in front of the inspection team.

Ideally, it would also influence their judgment of Melanie's character and the new drug's data.

“A seminar in Xavorn…”

Melanie murmured to herself as an idea quickly formed in her mind.

She took out her phone and contacted an employee at the Hale Health Center.

“Jonas, find the marketing plan for the new anti-cancer drug and just leave it on your desk.”

After giving that simple instruction, Melanie hung up and turned to Mr. Grayson.

“Mr. Grayson, you’ve all come a long way. Let me treat you to lunch!”

Mr. Grayson politely declined at first, but eventually, he and his team joined her for a meal at the bistro across from Adrian Mercer’s studio.

Only after everyone had left the R&D center did Evelyn emerge from the shadows.
