She Left She Thrived She’s Worth Billions novel Chapter 341

“You’re a lucky man, Mr. Hale! Mrs. Hale is as beautiful as she is capable.”

“I know, right? I’m so jealous of Mr. Hale… and look at Mrs. Hale’s dress! That vibrant yellow is absolutely stunning on her!”

“Mr. Hale has excellent taste. He must have picked that gown for her.”

The compliments from the guests sounded in Dominic’s ears, but the smile on his face felt a bit stiff.

The truth was, he hadn't chosen Melanie’s dress for the evening.

And he didn’t like it.

It wasn't that Melanie looked bad in it.

Quite the opposite. She looked too good.

Sure, the new anti-cancer drug had been a resounding success, paving the way for The Hale Health Center’s public launch, and it was all thanks to Melanie's efforts.

But it wasn't entirely her accomplishment.

After all, The Hale Health Center was legally registered under his father, Gregory, and he was the general manager.

Melanie was just a vice president.

Originally, Dominic had given Melanie a pale pink gown.

It was sweet and demure.

He was sure she would have looked beautiful in it.

But Melanie hadn’t worn the dress he’d given her.

Instead, she wore a striking canary yellow gown.

What kind of color was that?

It was a power color, almost regal.

It was too bright, too eye-catching, and carried with it a hint of aggression.

Even though Melanie looked breathtaking in it, and the dress itself was impeccably tailored with a high-end design, Dominic still didn't like it.

And he wasn’t the only one. When his father, Gregory, and his mother, Camilla, saw Melanie’s attire for the celebration, they both frowned instinctively.

Her entire look was far too conspicuous, drawing the attention of nearly every guest in the room.

Evelyn, standing nearby holding Lila’s hand, also wore a sour expression.

She had chosen a black, sequined gown, but it was nowhere near as dazzling or sophisticated as Melanie’s.

To make matters worse, Melanie was adorned with a matching set of gold jewelry studded with diamonds, which looked incredibly expensive.

Why was she staring at Lila?

Because she thought… Lila didn’t just look like Evelyn…

She also looked like Dominic.

“Congratulations, Melanie.”

Seeing Hazel approach, Melanie shook her hand.

If it hadn't been for the humanized transgenic mice Hazel had provided, her new anti-cancer drug might never have broken through its development bottleneck.

Dominic naturally extended his hand as well.

Though he and Hazel had clashed at the amusement park, she was still the director of the Aldoria University research institute, and he wanted to maintain a good relationship.

However, while Dominic held out his hand, Hazel completely ignored it, having shaken hands only with Melanie.

“Melanie!”

Just then, someone called Melanie’s name.

Dominic looked up, and his already sour expression darkened further.
