She Left She Thrived She’s Worth Billions novel Chapter 481

Pointing sharply at the dense wall of numbers, Regina whipped her head back around and leveled an icy, victorious smirk at Melanie.

"Ms. Royce, people lie, they deflect, and they avoid responsibility... but data does not."

The rest of the R&D executives remained dead silent, but every single face telegraphed the exact same message: they wholly agreed with Regina. She was their executioner.

Out in the hall, Gabriel was pacing like a frantic rat on a hot stove.

"What do we do? What do we do? Melanie is getting slaughtered in there! What the hell is Preston doing? He's just standing there like an idiot! Why isn't he defending her?"

Gabriel was terrified that if Melanie got ripped to shreds by the Stellaris sharks, she would be furious enough to dump Preston.

Preston had fought so hard to win Melanie over. If he ended up single again because of this disastrous meeting, then Gabriel...

"I'll fire every last one of them!"

Watching Gabriel grit his teeth and swear bloody vengeance, Philip couldn't help but facepalm.

Thank God Preston had returned. If Stellaris were left entirely in Gabriel's hands, the company wouldn't survive a week.

Inside the room, Preston didn't take a seat at the table. He stood quietly in the corner, blending in like a lowly assistant.

Though his suffocating aura of power was impossible to fully suppress.

The twenty-odd executives sitting at the table were the core backbone of Stellaris, people he trusted deeply.

Most of them were somewhat aware of his relationship with Melanie and knew he was keeping his true identity as the boss hidden from her.

Because of that, none of them addressed him or treated him like the head of the company right now.

In front of Melanie, Preston played the role of a completely ordinary employee.

Which was exactly why he refused to speak up and defend her.

He simply watched her in absolute silence.

Compared to Gabriel's frantic meltdown in the hallway, Preston was so unfazed it seemed like the sky could fall and he wouldn't even blink.

But her intellectual curiosity was officially piqued.

She couldn't wait to see what kind of amateur trick Melanie thought could possibly sway the absolute elite of Stellaris R&D.

Melanie had only looked over because she feared Preston might be worried, hoping to reassure him with a glance.

To her surprise, Preston trusted her far more than she had realized, looking absolutely certain that she wouldn't lose to this room full of corporate sharks.

"Since your company has provided such valuable data, I happen to have brought some data of my own. I invite you all to take a look."

With a graceful smile, Melanie pulled a hard drive from her bag and plugged it directly into the console.

A massive cascade of highly advanced analytics instantly flooded the screen. As Regina scanned the numbers, all the color drained from her face.

"That is mathematically impossible!"

She violently slammed her hands on the table and shot up from her chair.
