She Left She Thrived She’s Worth Billions novel Chapter 587

The moment Nathaniel saw the intruders, the smile vanished from his face.

"What, it took you this long to finally remember I'm in the hospital?" he snapped coldly.

The group was none other than Sabrina, Aria, Gregory, and Dominic.

"Dad..." Aria started, only to be cut off by a harsh scoff.

"You still have the nerve to call me that?"

"I..." Aria lowered her head, stuttering.

Sabrina quickly stepped forward, intending to rush to Nathaniel's bedside to play the devoted wife. Melanie had no intention of letting her pass.

But before Melanie could even step up, Preston blocked Sabrina's path.

Tall, broad-shouldered, and radiating an overwhelming alpha presence, Preston's expression grew glacial. The sheer intensity of his stare sent a chill down Sabrina's spine, making her scalp tingle.

She froze, lacking the courage to even utter the words 'move aside'.

Instead, she craned her neck, trying to look past Preston at Nathaniel.

"Nathaniel, please don't misunderstand Aria and me! We wanted to visit you, but Melanie wouldn't let us! Look at this... the company is in a massive crisis, and she won't even let you out to take charge! She's an ungrateful daughter! She's practically holding you hostage!"

Sabrina was practically stomping her feet, desperately trying to throw all the blame onto Melanie.

But this time, Nathaniel wasn't buying it.

He wasn't oblivious to the dirty tricks Sabrina and Aria had pulled behind his back.

He knew they wanted to rip the Royce Group from Melanie's hands, and he knew they lacked the brains to do it cleanly.

Over the years, Nathaniel had always been incredibly strict with Melanie, often treating her coldly.

But he had never once considered handing the Royce Group to anyone else.

Seeing that their power grab had failed, Sabrina and Aria were always going to resort to extreme measures.

In fact, funding Aria's independent studio was Nathaniel's way of giving her a safety net.

He had figured that out of respect for his marriage to Sabrina, even though he couldn't hand over the main company, he could let Aria siphon off some minor resources to build her own brand.

But...

Spending these past few weeks in the hospital had been surprisingly peaceful, especially with an increasingly formidable chess opponent like Preston keeping him entertained.

He was getting used to this stress-free life, realizing just how exhausting running the company had been.

Seeing Nathaniel remain silent, Aria tried again.

"Dad, I didn't steal the formula for the nutrient solution. Melanie set me up..."

"Enough."

Nathaniel raised a hand, cutting her off.

"I'm tired. I don't want to hear any more of your lies."

He really didn't.

All he cared about was that the company was safe in Melanie's hands. That was enough.

"Nathaniel, you can't just abandon us! Aria's studio is in ruins, we're drowning in debt... and Gregory's company is going under too! He saved your life!"
