She Left She Thrived She’s Worth Billions novel Chapter 670

Even through the smooth fabric of Preston's pristine white gloves, the warmth of his hand seeped into Melanie's, instantly soothing her racing heart.

"My husband is here to pick me up, Mr. Sterling. We'll be leaving now. My assistant will contact you regarding the contract," Melanie said crisply, tugging Preston toward the door.

"Angel..."

Shawn's voice drifted after them.

"Don't be so cold next time. I sat through all that boring corporate talk while you deliberately stalled for time, and I didn't even expose you."

Melanie paused.

Preston slowly turned his head. His eyes, dark and abyssal, locked onto the White-Haired Punk.

"You'd do well to listen when my wife speaks, Mr. Sterling. Otherwise... you're going to get hurt."

His voice was a low, steady rumble, but the sheer lethal weight behind it was suffocating.

Shawn merely offered a silent, mocking sneer.

Stepping out of the suite, Melanie twitched as she noticed the hallway.

Security guards were laid out unconscious across the floor.

Clearly, they had tried to stop Preston from reaching her.

Unfortunately for them, they were hopelessly outmatched.

Back in the suite, Shawn sat alone.

He had finished his own whiskey long ago.

But he hadn't touched the glass Melanie pushed back to him.

Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a gleaming butterfly knife. With a flick of his wrist, the blade snapped open.

He plunged the steel into the glass, lazily stirring the melting ice.

"Did I move too fast?" Shawn murmured to himself.

"Or do you just think I'm some sleazy creep trying to get in your pants?"

As the ice melted faster under the blade, a sickeningly sweet scent rose from the glass.
