Melanie asked Daphne with a mischievous smile, "What do you think we should do if our identities are exposed?"
Daphne quickly waved her hands.
"What do you mean, exposed? We're just here to relax today. It has nothing to do with who we are!"
Seeing how nervous Daphne was, Melanie couldn't help but laugh.
The Velvet Ember Lounge was Calyon's most famous male host club, and it was known nationwide.
Daphne had wanted to bring Melanie here several times before to scout out the competition.
Unfortunately, Melanie had always been too busy.
Melanie was genuinely happy today, so she thought of helping Daphne fulfill her wish.
The two women walked in with their arms around each other's shoulders and were immediately treated like princesses by a throng of handsome men at the door.
Daphne had to admit, her number one competitor wasn't just three times larger in size; it outclassed her in every other aspect as well.
Since she was on a mission to gather intelligence, Daphne didn't drink.
Melanie, however, had a blast.
On the way back, Daphne drove. Melanie sang the whole way until they got off the highway, where she finally ran out of steam and passed out cold.
Daphne knew that Melanie was renting a place from Preston and that it was in the most exclusive luxury community in all of Averin.
As the three towering buildings of Rosevale Heights came into view, Daphne didn't know what to do.
Melanie was completely wasted, and she knew she'd never get past the security at a place like Rosevale Heights.
"What am I going to do with you? How am I supposed to get you home?"
She didn't feel comfortable just leaving her with a security guard!
Suddenly, an incredibly handsome face flashed in Daphne's mind.

Stellaris PharmaTech.
Conference Room.
Preston, Gabriel, and the other executives were in a video conference with clients from Ylverin.
Just then, a buzzing sound echoed through the room.
The vibration came from Preston's phone.
Gabriel craned his neck to see the caller ID displayed a woman's name—
Daphne.
"Bro, you save other women's numbers besides Ms. Royce's?"
That call hadn't even been from Melanie!
Could it be…
He was getting a new sister-in-law?
Gabriel tilted his head, pouting as he pondered.
But his brother didn't seem to be a player like him.
Though the clients from Ylverin looked displeased, they didn't say much.
Since Preston had already apologized, what else could they do?
Of course, they would wait obediently.

Rosevale Heights.
Daphne sat in the car, waiting, but Preston never messaged back.
She had thought Preston might have some feelings for Melanie, which was why she had taken the initiative to add him.
Now it seemed she had been overthinking things.
