She Left, She Thrived, She’s Worth Billions novel Chapter 88

Melanie froze, turning to look at Preston with a frown.

"Didn't we agree that it was my treat?"

Preston leaned in, his beautifully sculpted lips moving close to Melanie's ear.

This intimate gesture happened to be in the direct line of sight of Dominic, who was seated in the Horizon Tier.

Evelyn saw the fury in Dominic's eyes and pretended to comfort him.

"Don't worry about it. Besides, he's just some entertainer. You know how Melanie has always been a bit wild…"

"Although… the minimum spending here is five million dollars. She's certainly willing to spend a lot on a guy like that."

Dominic was already upset about seeing Melanie and Preston here. Evelyn's words were like pouring oil on a fire, and his anger flared.

He tilted his head back and downed his aperitif in one gulp, his face flushing with rage.

"Let's just drop it. Today is a day for our family to celebrate. Talking about her just ruins my appetite."

Hearing Dominic's words, Evelyn smiled and nodded repeatedly.

She glanced out of the corner of her eye at Melanie, who was still talking to the staff at the entrance.

Melanie hadn't come in yet, likely still agonizing over the five-million-dollar minimum charge.

Just then, Lila tugged on Evelyn's dress with her small hand.

"Mommy, when is the food coming? I'm so hungry…"

In anticipation of this grand meal, Lila had even skipped breakfast and had been starving ever since.

"Just be patient. A Michelin-starred chef needs time to prepare the food."

Though she said this to soothe Lila, Evelyn was just as impatient.

She hadn't eaten breakfast either, and after rushing to the airport and flying here, she was famished.

"But Mommy…"

Not wanting to be bothered by Lila, Evelyn brushed her off, "Just look at the aurora for now. It's a super rare sight…"

Following Evelyn's suggestion, Lila tilted her small face upward.

While the aurora was visible from the Horizon Tier, you could only see a small patch through the glass dome.

Even though Evelyn had picked the best seat in the regular section, Lila still had to strain to see anything.

She felt a little deflated.
