"You really don't know what's good for you! Jade, let's go get some ice on that."
Quinn's gaze swept coldly over the heartless man before her. Her chest felt so tight and bitter that she didn't even have the energy to argue with him anymore.
Jade genuinely thought her heartbroken act would prompt Miles to force Quinn into an apology. But he was just taking her away?
He wasn't going to make this bitch apologize?
What was going on?
Jade looked up, playing the victim. "Miles... you..."
Miles couldn't bear to see her hurt. "Jade, I'm worried about the swelling. We need to get the hotel staff to bring ice immediately. What if it ruins your face?"
So Miles was just worried about her face!
At that thought, a triumphant smirk tugged at the corner of her mouth, and she cast a provocative glance at Quinn.
That mocking look pricked Quinn like a barrage of tiny needles, leaving her feeling utterly drained both physically and mentally.
...
That afternoon, Miles had Hunter pass a message to Quinn and drop off some medicine.
Quinn refused to let Hunter into the room, so he had no choice but to leave the medication by the door.
He called out a quick reminder, "Ms. Avery, I've left the medicine at the door. Mr. York said we're taking the private jet back home tomorrow, so please stay put in the hotel."
No sound came from the room. Hunter sighed and walked away.
The next day, Miles had originally planned to fly back to the States, but Jade managed to delay him until the following morning.
"Where is that woman?"
They were already at the door, but Quinn hadn't come downstairs yet.
Did she really expect everyone to wait on her?
He sent Hunter upstairs to rush her. Didn't she know his time was valuable?
