Quinn arrived back in Fairmont, and Yara brought the two kids downstairs to greet her.
Spotting her from a distance, the two little toddlers sprinted over as fast as their short legs could carry them.
"Mommy!"
Quinn let go of her suitcase and reached out, scooping one up in each arm.
The two sweet babies kissed both her cheeks. Luna said in her sweet, milky voice, "Mommy, Caleb and I missed you so much!"
"Mommy missed you both too. Let me see, have you gotten heavier?"
"Ah..."
Her right hand hadn't fully healed, and the sudden exertion sent a sharp pain through her palm.
Luna noticed the wound. "Mommy, how did your hand... get hurt again?"
Caleb also asked with deep concern, "Mommy, you've hurt this hand twice now. You have to be careful not to get hurt again."
Yara had chatted with her via text and knew exactly how the injury happened. She silently cursed Miles for putting Quinn through so much suffering.
"Quinn, let's head upstairs first. I'll change your dressing."
She helped push the suitcase and walked alongside her, updating her on how the kids had been doing so she could rest easy.
However, remembering that little Caleb had advanced to the finals of the National Junior Prodigy Challenge, she decided it was best to come clean with Quinn soon.
Quinn sat down and ate a meal with the two kids, after which they obediently grabbed their tablets to study.
"Quinn, these kids are absolutely no trouble at all. They aren't picky eaters either. Stacy said she's never seen three-year-olds so well-behaved. They don't even drop a single grain of rice."
Hearing her children praised, Quinn's face lit up with a bright, genuine smile.
"It's all thanks to you, Yara. If it weren't for your help, I wouldn't know what to do."
Yara gave her a tight hug. "Why are you being so polite? My life is yours."
Quinn chuckled. "There you go again. Let's not talk about the unhappy past. Didn't you say you had something important to tell me when I got back? What is it?"
...
Miles and Jade boarded the private jet, flying from Callan City to Fairmont.
