Overwhelmed with intense guilt and heartache, he reluctantly gestured for the butler to proceed.
"Yes, sir."
Jack took the backpack and unzipped it in front of everyone. He pulled the items out one by one.
A water bottle, wet wipes, a sippy cup, some tissues, and crayons. There was no scarf.
Jack’s hands trembled slightly. He felt a deep sense of dread for Quinn.
Seeing the bag was empty, Miles looked at Quinn with absolute disgust, his voice practically vibrating with rage.
"Quinn Avery, open your eyes. You called him a thief. Do you see it in here?"
Quinn’s face went pale, her stomach dropping.
Impossible. Just a moment ago, she clearly saw...
Jade couldn't suppress the smug curve of her lips. You brought this on yourself, Quinn!
But as she turned to the man beside her, she instantly switched back to her pitiful facade. "Miles, do you see a scarf?"
Macy’s eyes sparkled with schadenfreude as she piled on.
"You falsely accused them, Quinn. Per your agreement with my brother, you need to issue a formal apology immediately. Oh, and don't forget mine!"
When Quinn remained silent, Macy impatiently pressed her.
"What are you waiting for? Apologize to us and beg for our forgiveness!"
Refusing to give up, Quinn stepped forward and frantically dug through the bag herself.
She checked every corner and pocket, dumping everything onto the coffee table.
When she came up empty-handed and met Jade's triumphant gaze, it hit her.
"You did this on purpose, didn't you?"
