Quinn only cared about getting Caleb's scarf back. She completely ignored his anger and reprimands.
Noticing Leo's guilty flinch, she disregarded Miles's warnings entirely and pointed frantically at the boy.
"He's hiding it under his clothes! I just saw it peaking out from his shirt."
Panicking, Leo instinctively reached down to cover it. The movement caught both Macy and Jade's attention.
There was definitely a flash of grey fabric. Both women paled in shock.
Her heart racing, Jade quickly scooped Leo up, terrified Quinn would lunge forward and pull the scarf out.
Her face pale, she threw out a heartbroken line. "Miles, if she doesn't want to apologize, fine. But why must she torture him like this?"
"I endured it when she hit me, insulted me, and humiliated me because I didn't want to make things difficult for you. But he's only three! How can she attack him like this? Calling him a thief..."
"I... I know she hates me. We just won't come around anymore. That way she won't have an excuse to target us."
Without waiting for Miles to respond, she carried her son and hurried toward the door, a picture of tearful, shattered innocence.
Macy didn't want to stick around either.
She had definitely seen that grey fabric under the kid's shirt.
But she was never going to help Quinn. She made sure to twist the knife before leaving.
"Miles, Jade is so disappointed in you. And so am I. Quinn lied, caused a scene, and refused to apologize. I'm going to comfort Jade. You better punish Quinn for this, or Jade will never forgive you!"
With that, she hastily chased after them.
Quinn tried to wrench her arm from Miles's grip, screaming after them, "Leo Winter, you little thief! Come back here! Give me the scarf!"
She tried to run after them, but Miles held her back effortlessly. His gaze turned murderous, his voice freezing cold.
"Are you done being a psycho?"
