"Is that so?"
That contemptuous gaze landed on Quinn Avery like sharp thorns, brutally piercing her fragile defenses.
Humiliation swept through her, burning her cheeks and settling as a suffocating weight in her chest.
Her clenched hands trembled slightly, knowing he was looking down on her again, refusing to believe her.
Embarrassment and bitterness intertwined, making it hard for her to breathe.
"Don't worry, I will never ask you for anything ever again."
Her voice was slightly hoarse, yet laced with an unyielding backbone.
"Then I hope you keep your word!"
Miles York tugged at his collar and strode out, his posture exuding arrogant nobility.
Quinn tightened her grip on her phone, pulled it out, and immediately dialed AJ.
"Quinn, why are you calling me so early?"
AJ rubbed his eyes, scratching his messy hair as he answered with a lazy drawl.
"AJ, if you ever ask Miles for money again, I'll post exactly how Chloe Preston bullied her classmates back in school all over the internet."
"What? You wouldn't dare!"
"Try me, AJ. See if I dare."
With that, Quinn hung up, leaving zero room for negotiation.
Furious, AJ leaped out of bed and called her back multiple times, only for her to decline every single one.
Back in his car, Miles remembered the smartwatch he'd gotten for Luna and shot Quinn a text.
[Did you give Luna the smartwatch I bought for her?]
[I'm calling her today. If you didn't give it to her, I'll have Hunter deliver another one.]
Quinn hadn't planned to reply, but the last sentence forced her hand.
[I didn't see her yesterday. I'll drop it off today.]
...
Quinn brought her two precious little ones to Cloud Castle Bistro.
Caleb wore a tiny tailored suit with a little bowtie, looking incredibly handsome and exuding the refined aura of a little gentleman.
Luna wore a delicate princess dress, its hem fluttering playfully. Standing together, the siblings turned the heads of several parents.
Seeing her mother stay silent, Luna tugged gently at her hand.
Quinn was a bit caught off guard. As their actual mother, she wasn't nearly as natural or convincing at this charade as he was.
But she quickly recovered, picking up her daughter with a bright smile. "Luna, Caleb, this... is your daddy. He's been working overseas and just got back."
Hearing her mother's confirmation, Luna looked at Ethan again. This time, all hesitation vanished as her eyes curved into sweet crescents.
"Daddy!"
Her voice was impossibly soft, melting the hearts of everyone listening.
Caleb was a little more reserved. Perhaps because he was a three-year-old who had never met his father before, or perhaps his brilliant mind was processing other thoughts.
He softly called out, "Daddy."
Ethan knelt, taking Caleb's small hand, his charming eyes shimmering with warmth.
"Caleb, Daddy has been too busy working abroad these past few years. I haven't had the time to come back and be with you and Luna. That was Daddy's fault."
"But Daddy has always looked at your photos and watched all your old videos."
He adapted his communication perfectly, matching the warm, comforting tone of a devoted dad.

Why only one episode uploading for the last 2 days?...
I would have accepted the jerk husband ending up with the heroine if he’s only powerful, intelligent but he’s so powerless and so stupid....
Can you make Ethan be the endgame? That Miles is a total jerk....
