Macy's mocking tone drifted over, quickly followed by Cody Garrett's sarcastic sneer.
"Quinn, it's bad enough that you have no shame, but why is your brother AJ exactly like you? He doesn't know his place. He's way out of his league, yet he actually has the nerve to dream about Chloe?"
At his words, Luke Lawrence and Jade Winter couldn't hold back their laughter.
Quinn's fingers curled into tight fists. AJ was chasing Chloe Preston again?
She had warned her brother countless times. Chloe just treated him like disposable trash.
She only played him, making a fool out of him just to get Julian Fox to pay a little more attention to her.
But AJ never listened. It hadn't even been that long, and he was already going back to Chloe.
A flash of smugness crossed Jade's eyes before she feigned curiosity, her voice sickly sweet.
"Cody, what's going on? How is Quinn's brother involved with Chloe?"
Remembering how Miles had abandoned her and Leo just for Quinn, Jade concealed the bitter resentment in her gaze.
Macy eagerly interjected, "It's just AJ being a shameless lapdog. Didn't he used to work as a bartender at the club? He saw Chloe had money and latched onto her like a stray!"
Quinn forced down her rising anger, her tone dripping with sarcasm.
"Macy, are you indirectly insulting Chloe? It seems Susan was right—you've always had a problem with her."
Macy instantly panicked, her eyes widening in a glare. "What... what are you talking about? When did I insult Chloe?"
Sienna covered her mouth and giggled. "Macy, because a dog is only drawn to garbage."
The room fell silent as a spectrum of colors flashed across the guests' faces, everyone simultaneously turning to look at Macy.
Seeing all eyes on her, Macy paled and frantically tried to explain.
"I... I didn't mean it like that. I didn't say Chloe was garbage. I was talking about AJ, not Chloe!"
As she stumbled over her words, Julian Fox shot her a glance, his brows knitting together.
