Ethan Leigh: [You’re buying a laptop?]
Quinn Avery: [Yes, mine broke. I want to get a new one. Just something practical, it doesn't need to be high-end.]
Ethan Leigh: [I happen to have some free time right now. I’ll come with you.]
Quinn Avery: [Aren't you on a business trip?]
Ethan was originally scheduled to be away, but the client had a minor emergency, forcing him to postpone.
Quinn had intended to ask for his help recovering the data on her laptop the night before, but knowing he was away, she hadn't bothered him.
She was a little surprised to hear he was free.
[You're in Fairmont right now? Please don't delay your work because of me. Just tell me the model and specs, and I can go buy it myself.]
Ethan Leigh: [The trip got postponed. I was actually just about to head to the electronics mall to look at laptops anyway. I can help you pick one out while I’m there.]
Seeing their boss stand up abruptly, everyone in the conference room exchanged confused glances.
Ethan's assistant cleared his throat. "Mr. Leigh has an urgent matter to attend to. The meeting will continue without him."
...
Miles stared at the red swelling on Jade’s cheek, his brow furrowed deeply. He ordered Hunter to go buy some swelling-reduction ointment.
Only he and Jade remained in the office. Cupping her painful cheek, Jade spoke in a fragile, trembling voice:
"Miles, the laptop Lynn applied for was barely used. It’s not really a secondhand device. I only brought it to Quinn as a peace offering."
Miles had stopped reprimanding Quinn earlier precisely because he heard Jade tried to push Lynn’s old laptop onto her. Hearing her excuse now only made his frown deepen.
"Jade... no matter the intentions, you shouldn't have given Quinn a secondhand item."
He replaced his own laptop with the newest model every month, and he would never dream of giving his hand-me-downs to Quinn. If he was going to give a gift, it would be brand new. Otherwise, he wouldn't give anything at all.
"Miles, if I don't apologize in person, Quinn definitely won't be satisfied. After work today, I'll go to Regency Bay with you."
"You can invite Macy along too. The two of us can apologize to her together, so Macy won't have to write a letter."
She was intentionally setting up a pure, innocent persona for herself, while subtly painting Quinn as domineering and petty.
Dragging Macy into it would also guarantee their conflict escalated.
Miles thought that sounded reasonable. If Macy and Jade apologized together and handed over the letter, Quinn wouldn't be able to accuse him of being insincere anymore.
He pulled out his phone and called Hunter. "Get a new laptop for Quinn. Change the model and color; she didn't like the one from this morning."
Hunter immediately responded, "Understood, Mr. York. I’ll get on it right away."
Hearing that he was still planning to buy a gift for Quinn, an overwhelming wave of jealousy exploded in Jade’s chest.

Why only one episode uploading for the last 2 days?...
I would have accepted the jerk husband ending up with the heroine if he’s only powerful, intelligent but he’s so powerless and so stupid....
Can you make Ethan be the endgame? That Miles is a total jerk....
