She Walked Away With His Twins While He Begged the Ground She Walked On novel Chapter 304

Seeing Quinn continuing her interrogation, Jade feared Wayne might crack under the pressure and quickly interrupted.

"Quinn, stop harassing Wayne. He's just an employee doing his job."

"Jade, did you notice a command prompt from the drive? Did you know I'd come looking for Wayne, so you got to him first and told him to deny everything? Otherwise, why are you acting more anxious than I am?"

A brief flash of panic crossed Jade's eyes, but she maintained her righteous facade. "Quinn, stop dragging innocent people into your mess. You're just trying to force all the blame onto Wayne and me."

With that, she cast a pathetic, frail look at the man beside her. "Miles, look at the way she's treating me..."

Miles's brow knitted tightly as he barked, "Quinn, that is enough! You repeatedly hurl baseless accusations at Jade because you know she's gentle and always accommodates you. You take a mile when she gives an inch, and you single her out every time!"

Lynn stepped up immediately to back him. "Mr. York is absolutely right. She knows Secretary Winter is soft-hearted and avoids conflict, so she pushes her into a corner and makes her life difficult over and over again."

Seeing Lynn piling on Jade's bandwagon, Hunter shot her a dark warning look. "Lynn, this has nothing to do with you. Get out!"

Jade wasn't happy that he was chasing off her loyal lackey. After all, there were some things she couldn't say herself; she needed Lynn to fan the flames for her.

"Hunter, don't be hard on Lynn. She's just speaking up for me because it's unfair."

Lynn hurriedly ducked behind Jade for cover. "Hunter, I just can't stand by and watch someone bully Secretary Winter."

Miles's voice dropped to a freezing register. "All of you, out. Now."

Wayne looked as though he'd just received a pardon. The rigid tension in his spine evaporated, and he let out a long, secret sigh of relief.

Seeing him heading for the door, Quinn grew desperate. "Wayne, please just think it over. Here is my phone number. I'm begging you."

She offered him one of her business cards, which had all her contact details.

Miles's face darkened menacingly. "Hunter!"

Hunter stepped in, murmuring a quiet warning. "Ms. Avery, please don't provoke Mr. York any further."
