She Walked Away With His Twins While He Begged the Ground She Walked On novel Chapter 412

The ambient light caught the sharp, striking contours of Miles's profile, highlighting his handsome features.

Yet, his eyes were pools of dark, frigid stillness. There was no warmth in him, only an unapproachable, icy hardness.

Sensing his cold detachment, Jade looked at him with tear-filled eyes, her voice laced with desperation.

"Miles, Wesley didn't do this. How could the police just take him away? There must be some kind of misunderstanding. They don't have any proof."

Miles said nothing. He simply fixed his dark, predatory gaze on her in silence.

The corners of Jade's eyes grew red, and a layer of panic washed over her face.

"My parents are a wreck right now. Miles, could you please..."

"Jade," Miles interrupted, his expression indifferent. "Did your brother really have nothing to do with it?"

Jade's heart plummeted. She sped up her words, layering them with a hint of grievance. "Miles, how could you... how could even you think it was him? My brother was just there to bring me something. Did Quinn see him and intentionally blame him? Miles, she doesn't have any evidence. She can't just randomly accuse my brother."

As her words fell, she quickly lowered her eyelashes, hiding the calculation in her eyes and leaving only a picture of helpless victimhood.

Miles's expression darkened, his tone freezing over. "Quinn never mentioned your brother's name."

"What?"

A flash of sheer panic crossed Jade's eyes. She didn't dare meet his gaze.

Why was that shameless woman so calm after getting hurt this time? Why didn't she make a huge scene?

She would have preferred it if Quinn had come to her, pointed a finger, and bitterly accused her.

That way, Miles would have taken her side, scolded Quinn for being petty, and forced her to drop the issue.
