She Walked Away With His Twins While He Begged the Ground She Walked On novel Chapter 488

When he said this, his dark eyes gleamed as if he imagined himself being that fourth person.

Luna and Caleb both looked at him, curiosity written all over their faces.

"Four people?"

Luna counted on her little fingers, her big eyes filled with innocent confusion. "Miles, it's just me, Quinn, and Caleb. That's three. Who else is coming to sleep with us?"

Realizing his slip-up, Miles quickly backtracked. "Luna, I was just using that to explain how big the bed is."

He had accidentally let his inner thoughts slip out.

Caleb glanced up at his mother. Seeing the coldness settling into her eyes, he gently tugged his sister's hand. "Luna, let's go back to the room."

Luna looked up at Quinn as well. "Quinn, hold me! I love when you hold me. You always smell so good and feel so soft."

Quinn smiled and scooped up her daughter. She reached out her other hand toward Caleb. "Caleb, I'll carry you next time."

"Okay."

Caleb walked dutifully beside his mother as they headed toward the second floor.

Miles crouched down, speaking gently. "Caleb, let me carry you up. It'll be faster."

Seeing that his mother didn't object, Caleb didn't push away the hands reaching for him.

He politely replied, "Thank you, Miles."

Miles's eyes softened with a flicker of genuine excitement as he lifted the boy into his arms.

The father and son, practically strangers to each other, followed closely behind Quinn.

"Up we go! I'll lift you up high."

Caleb suddenly laughed, sounding genuinely happy.

Hearing the laughter behind her, Quinn turned slightly. Seeing the two of them playing so happily, her breath caught in her throat.

Caleb was laughing freely, his eyes bright. It was a relaxed, carefree joy she rarely saw in him.

When Ethan played with him and lifted him up, Caleb laughed, but Quinn had always felt like something was missing.

In this exact moment, she finally realized what that missing piece was.
