She Walked Away With His Twins, While He Begged the Ground She Walked On novel Chapter 54

That just proved exactly how much effort Miles was willing to put in for a kid like Leo.

She replied: [My kid already has one. Keeping this around will just collect dust.]

Miles tapped his desk sharply, signaling Hunter. "Ask her if the kid didn't like it."

Hunter's fingers trembled as he typed, silently praying the boss's wife wouldn't push Miles over the edge.

[Did the child not like it? Taking a twenty percent hit on something brand new seems like a shame.]

Quinn frowned. Why was this person asking so many irrelevant questions instead of haggling over the price?

Quinn: [No, she didn't like it. It's just taking up space.]

Seeing her reply, Miles felt his blood boil. She had looked him in the eye last night and claimed Luna loved it, but today she was saying the exact opposite?

Unbelievable!

For a few quick bucks, she was willing to pawn off a gift the girl clearly wanted. She was materialistic to the bone.

He was absolutely certain Quinn planned to pocket the cash, buy Luna a cheap knockoff, and pass it off as his gift while keeping the profit.

The thought made Miles's anger surge even higher.

"Keep asking. See if she's open to an in-person meetup to hand it over."

He was going to show up at her door personally just to see how thick her skin really was.

Hunter nearly choked trying to hold back a laugh. The image of his terrifying boss rolling up to a second-hand deal to catch his wife flipping his own gift was ridiculously comical.

His lips twitched as he cautiously asked, "Mr. York, are you... really going to go confront her in person?"

Miles stared darkly at the listing on the screen, gritting out a single word through clenched teeth: "Send!"

"Yes, sir. Asking now."

Hunter scrambled to type the message. In all his years working for Miles, he had never seen the man this furious.

The boss's wife was truly something else!
