She Walked Away With His Twins While He Begged the Ground She Walked On novel Chapter 79

In her dream, he had stood there like a stone statue, ordering his men to forcefully drag her babies into the car while she begged him on her knees not to take them.

His dark eyes hadn't held a single ounce of pity, matching the exact cold tone she had just heard.

Pure terror seized her. Instinctively, she grabbed the pillow tightly against her chest.

Hugging it as if she were shielding her children, she scrambled backward on the sofa.

Her eyes were wide with wild, defensive panic. Her body was coiled tight, fully expecting him to lunge forward and rip the 'child' from her arms at any second.

Miles stared at her terrified, defensive posture, a flash of confusion crossing his eyes before a fresh wave of anger surged up.

What was she doing?

Did she think he was coming over here in the middle of the night to assault her?

The thought made a harsh, mocking laugh tear from his throat. His voice dripped with absolute disdain.

"Quinn, I told you already. I have zero interest in your body. You don't need to play the victim acting like you're defending your purity. I am not so desperate that I'd ever stoop to touching a woman like you."

He reached over and flicked on the main light. The sudden brightness stabbed at Quinn's eyes, finally snapping her out of the nightmare.

She looked down and realized she was clutching a pillow to her chest. A violent shiver wracked her frame. It was a dream. Not reality.

Fully awake now, her racing heart finally plummeted back to her chest. Thank God, it was just a nightmare.

He hadn't found out about her babies. They hadn't been taken. They were safe and sound back at Fairview Apartments.

Miles assumed she was just putting on another dramatic act to manipulate him into paying attention to her.

"Stop making those weird noises and let me sleep."

"Weird noises?"

Quinn's heart skipped a beat. Did she... did she say something she shouldn't have in her sleep?

But she didn't dare ask, terrified of drawing his suspicion. The smartest thing to do right now was to keep her mouth shut.

Miles took a step closer, his sharp gaze locking onto her. "You said I was fighting you for Luna in your dream? Why would I fight you for Luna?"
