She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 795

A slender yet poised figure leaned casually against the doorframe. It was impossible to tell how long she had been listening.

The group snapped their heads around to see Loyce. She was dressed simply in a cream-colored knit sweater and dark trousers, her long hair pinned up loosely, exposing the elegant curve of her neck.

"Looks like my timing is impeccable. I could hear the barking all the way from the hallway," Loyce said as she walked in. She rested a hand on Lucian's shoulder, sweeping a lazy, amused glance over the intruders. "Husband, did you suddenly decide to adopt a pack of feral dogs?"

Hearing her call him "husband" sent a shockwave of electricity straight up Lucian's spine. A tingling sensation rushed to his head, leaving him momentarily dazed.

He tilted his head back to look at her, the sheer delight in his eyes overflowing like a breached dam.

"I didn't adopt them. They strayed in on their own," he played along smoothly.

Baldwin's face flushed crimson, then shifted to a sickly green, before settling on a mottled, furious purple. His lips trembled, but he couldn't form a single word.

Joanna looked as though she were choking, her hypocritical mask freezing into a grotesque, comical expression.

Channing, young and hot-headed, was instantly triggered by the blatant humiliation. The blood rushed to his face, his fists cracking as he glared at Loyce, looking like he wanted to lunge at her.

"Loyce!" Baldwin finally hissed through gritted teeth, his chest heaving. "You... how dare you speak to your elders like this?! Do you have no manners?"

Loyce ignored him entirely, turning her head to the butler standing behind her. "My house does not welcome stray dogs. Throw them out. And toss all their belongings with them."

"Loyce! You wouldn't dare!" Channing lost control. He charged forward furiously, but before his hand could even brush her sleeve, Lucian shot a leg out, tripping him hard. Channing crashed heavily onto the floor.

"Channing!" Joanna cried, her heart breaking for her son. "Lucian! Are you out of your mind?! Are you really going to let this woman bully your own family?!"

Lucian replied calmly, "I once learned a very educational saying from my comrades: 'Listen to your wife, and you'll prosper. Whatever your wife wants to do, support it absolutely.'"

He squeezed Loyce's hand and smiled. "Did I get that right, honey?"

Loyce patted the top of his head, mirroring his usual affectionate gesture. "Spot on."

The butler stepped forward with several staff members and security guards. Flashing a professional smile at Baldwin's family, he said, "The lady of the house has spoken. Please get out."

A maid stepped up nervously. "Ma'am, should we throw out the clothes in the guest rooms too? Miss Luna is currently in the bath, preparing for her essential oil massage."

"Give her ten minutes to put her clothes on," Loyce commanded. "Then she can roll out of here with her useless boyfriend."

Baldwin ground his teeth. "You will pay for what you've done today."

"You really shouldn't mess with Luna," Channing sneered, pointing a finger at Loyce, assuming she was oblivious to Luna's true identity. "Otherwise, your luck is going to run out."

"Shut up!" Baldwin roared at his son, terrified he would leak Luna's background. If that got out, they were all dead.

Under the butler's supervision, the staff tossed all their luggage out the front doors. Luna, who had been enjoying a soak, was abruptly drained of her bathwater and forcibly escorted out by the maids.

Wearing nothing but a bathrobe and slippers, she was dumped at the front gates along with her suitcase, completely and utterly bewildered.

Seeing Channing and his parents in the same pathetic state, she quickly realized what had happened. She exploded...
