She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 901

"What's the big deal?" Miranda Nash adjusted the collar of her coat, her tone breezy. "Kids will be kids. They don't mean any harm. Besides, if your daughter didn't have all this drama surrounding her, what would people even have to talk about? And let's get down to facts: your kid hit mine. Hitting is wrong, no matter the reason."

Giselle's fingers curled into tight fists.

"'Kids will be kids'?" she repeated, her voice tightening. "A child doesn't just come up with 'your dad ran off with another woman' on his own. Someone had to teach him that."

Miranda’s expression shifted before settling into a cold sneer. "Excuse me? Are you implying we taught him that? Nobody in our house says those things. He probably heard it on TV."

She paused, raking her eyes up and down Giselle with an ingrained sense of superiority.

"Look, Gigi's mom, I get it. Being a single mom is hard." Miranda's tone dripped with condescension. "But just because your life is tough doesn't mean the world owes you anything. Your kid hit mine. Apologize, pay the medical bills, and we're done here. Why do you have to drag it out with all this talk about 'humiliation'? It's exhausting."

She dug into her designer bag, pulled out a business card, and held it out between two manicured fingers like she was offering charity.

"Here. I'm the Marketing Director at Stature Holdings. My husband is an executive at Peak Capital. Tell your kid to apologize to Lanny, and I'll even waive the damages. If you ever need a favor in the future, I might just help you out for the kids' sake."

Giselle glanced down at the card.
