She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 181

That afternoon, Caleb went straight to the office and didn't return until dinner.

Arthur also came home just in time for the meal.

As he sat at the head of the table, he couldn't help but notice that even though the whole family was present, the dining room was much quieter than usual. Caleb wasn't his usual chatty self.

"Did something happen at the company?" Arthur asked.

"No," Caleb replied curtly.

"I want to move back in here."

Arthur furrowed his brow. "Move back?"

He then shifted his gaze to Kayla. Kayla looked visibly stunned, completely unaware of this decision.

Delilah smiled gently. "You don't get to make that call. Your wife has the final say."

Ever since the two of them tied the knot, they had always gone back to their own place after dinner to enjoy their privacy. Now that they were having a lover's spat, he suddenly wanted to move back into the family estate.

"Delilah, I want to move back in too," Kayla said softly, her tone devoid of any grievance.

Lyra felt a suffocating wave of guilt.

She had really messed things up this time.

Once Caleb finished eating and headed upstairs to his room, Lyra quickly followed him. She grabbed his tie the moment the door closed. "If you make Kayla unhappy, I will never let you hear the end of it."

"The one who's unhappy right now is me, not your precious Kayla." Caleb pushed her away and pulled his tie off.

Lyra scrambled to explain. "When Waylon talked to me, he only said the person he liked was married! He never mentioned he was into Kayla! When I used the word 'married'... I just wanted to hammer home the fact that he didn't stand a chance. If I had known he used to chase after Kayla... I never would have brought it up."

Caleb shot his younger sister an icy glare. "Save your breath."

"I wronged Waylon and I wronged Kayla. Okay, the buck stops here. We turn the page. Whatever you want, I'll buy it for you..."

Caleb paused. The person who should have been coaxing him hadn't even tried yet.

Late that night, the couple got into a massive argument.

Lyra was sleeping so soundly that she didn't hear a thing.

Delilah was jolted awake in the middle of the night and went over to comfort Kayla.

Arthur went over shortly after. Once he figured out what was going on, he gave Caleb a harsh reprimand.

When Lyra woke up the next morning, she was completely oblivious to the drama that had unfolded.

She just grumbled internally about how her brother had such a massive temper despite his average capabilities, actually daring to give Kayla attitude. Waylon was much more handsome and wealthier than him. If Caleb lost Kayla, he'd be crying a river. Still, she knew it wasn't her place to interfere too much. Unable to stand the tense atmosphere at home after breakfast, she slipped away to work.

Another day passed. Lyra accidentally dozed off in her office. When she woke up and checked her social media, her eyes widened in shock. Her notifications and follower count had skyrocketed.

She clicked on her latest post and frowned. It was a photo of her sleeping soundly, completely off guard. Her eyelashes fluttered downward, a soft blush dusting her cheeks. Her hair was slightly tousled, her lips naturally pink.

Lyra instantly knew the culprit. Aside from her brother who had too much time on his hands, coming in to unlock her phone with her fingerprint and post on her behalf, there was no one else.
