Lyra lay helplessly against the sofa, with the drunken Lucas pressing heavily over her.
All color drained from her face. Her swaying vision met the dazzling crystal chandelier above, the harsh light sending waves of dizziness through her head. In her panic, she shoved her hands against the man's shoulders, using every ounce of strength she had to push him away.
But the intoxicated Lucas felt as immovable as a boulder. The suffocating weight of him pressing down on her brought an overwhelming wave of embarrassment and terror, threatening to swallow her whole.
Leo and Maddie frantically scrambled forward, grabbing Lucas from both sides and managing to lift him just an inch. But the next second, Lucas swayed heavily and crashed back down even harder.
The sudden, crushing weight completely broke Lyra's final thread of composure. She let out a piercing scream, abandoning all dignity as she thrashed and fought with all her might, tears of sheer panic welling in her eyes.
Not far away, Jasmine watched the scene with cold indifference. She mused to herself that Lyra's reputation was completely ruined now, feeling absolutely no inclination to step in and help.
Just then, the steady, icy sound of footsteps echoed from the entrance, drawing closer with a terrifying, commanding presence.
Aside from Jasmine, no one else noticed.
When Rowan's gaze landed on the scene unfolding on the sofa, the temperature around him plummeted below freezing.
He strode forward and aggressively grabbed Lucas by the back of his collar. With a ferocious and brutal yank, he hauled Lucas up by force.
Lyra, her eyes filled with humiliation and fear, scrambled out from under him the moment Lucas was hoisted away, throwing herself into Maddie's arms.
Rowan paused for a fraction of a second before dragging Lucas mercilessly toward the terrace. He gave the drunken, disoriented man absolutely no chance to struggle. Amidst the gasps and screams of the crowd, he hurled Lucas straight off the second-floor balcony.
Silas, Isabella, and the other elders were all gathered on the first floor, entirely unaware of the chaos upstairs.
Suddenly, a heavy splash erupted from the pool outside. They turned around just in time to see a body plunging straight into the water.
