She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 341

In contrast, Madeline Vance, who was already wearing a short dress, barely caught any of the mud. She was in a much better state.

Lyra Fairchild felt utterly sick to her stomach. The horrifying thought that the bug might have already crawled into the seams of her hem and was skittering against her skin consumed her. A shudder of terror shot straight up her spine. She hastily turned away, clutching the fabric at her chest with a white-knuckled grip, and jumped in place a few times in sheer panic. "I can't take this. I need a shower, right now."

Leo Chavez, understandably worried, quickly nudged Madeline. "Go on, follow her."

Madeline, looking rather disheveled herself, asked, "What about the car?"

"I'll get someone to handle it."

Leo insisted, "Just keep a close eye on her. Don't let anything else go wrong."

Lyra was completely oblivious to their exchange. Her mind was entirely occupied by the lingering, phantom sensation of the bug. In a frantic rush, she bolted toward the villa.

Rowan Jameson was standing at the top of the stairs on the second floor. Seeing her return in such a state, he drawled in a mocking tone, "Your driving might lack speed, but it certainly doesn't lack passion."

Lyra froze. She hadn't realized he was up there watching.

But she had absolutely zero desire to speak to him.

Her entire body burned, the heat concentrating furiously in her cheeks and ears. Opting to pretend she hadn't heard a word, she gathered up the mud-caked hem of her long dress and practically stomped up the stairs.

Her only thought was to get into the shower and aggressively scrub away every invisible trace of that caterpillar.

Rowan simply watched her go, saying nothing more.

He didn't tear his gaze away until she slipped into her room and slammed the door shut with a resounding bang.

Lyra tossed the contaminated dress and the disposable underwear straight into the trash. She stepped into the shower and washed herself repeatedly, scrubbing her skin until it was flushed red. Only when she was absolutely certain that the creeping sensation was gone did she wrap herself tightly in a towel and step out cautiously.
