No matter how spoiled a wealthy heiress was, she usually had some sense of propriety. Who on earth felt so entitled to just latch onto a man's wealth and bleed him dry without a second thought?
In the past, when the boss gave Jasmine gifts, she accepted them gracefully, but she would never outright demand them like a gold digger.
Wesley was thoroughly baffled. He simply couldn't comprehend how Lyra had the audacity to act like a bottomless pit, demanding every single item that caught her eye without so much as blinking.
And oddly enough, the boss seemed perfectly content to let her do it.
In just one high-end auction, Lyra effortlessly burned through millions of dollars of Rowan's money.
Later, Wesley vented to Andrea about the whole ordeal. "Miss Fairchild is unbelievably brazen. She doesn't hold back with Mr. Jameson at all. Her appetite is terrifying, and she doesn't know the meaning of restraint. I seriously thought she was possessed by a demon of greed."
Andrea stayed silent.
Wesley pressed her. "You follow her around all the time. Is she always this unhinged and inconsiderate?"
Andrea pursed her lips, unable to explain it herself, and simply shook her head.
Was Lyra spending like a maniac because she was strapped for cash?
But on second thought, that didn't make sense.
Lyra was a legitimate heiress. From what Andrea had observed, she was a low-maintenance young woman who barely even went shopping. She certainly wasn't the type to splurge on luxuries.
This sudden, reckless bidding war and frantic hoarding was entirely out of character. It didn't look like the behavior of someone who just wanted to enjoy the finer things or needed some pocket money.
