She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry novel Chapter 58

Chapter 58

Chapter 58

Lyra asked if Maisie’s birthday was coming up.

It was, in fact, just a few days away.

However, Lyra still hadn’t added the contact for Maisie that Caspian had shared with her.

She wanted to say more, but she could hear Maisie loudly complaining in the background, telling Caspian to hang up and join the game of Truth or Dare.

The two of them had to end the call abruptly.

“That reckless little brat…” Lyra muttered under her breath. She tossed her phone onto the bed and sat up.

Then her phone rang again. It was Maddie.

Lyra picked it up and was immediately blasted by Maddie’s loud voice. “Lyra! Do you know where Rowan went halfway through dinner?”

Of course she did.

“He went to celebrate the festival with Jasmine! Pictures of them acting all cozy are all over the internet right now!”

Lyra gave a calm, “Hmm.”

“This is basically a public declaration! What are you going to do?!”

Maddie sounded frantic. “Did Jasmine steal your fiancé?!”

“That bitch! Let’s go give her a piece of our minds!”

“Don’t-” A chill shot up Lyra’s spine, and she quickly interrupted. “Rowan will destroy us.”

In her past life, she had caused endless trouble for Jasmine.

As a result, Rowan had protected Jasmine even more fiercely.

In the end, Lyra ended up dead, and Jasmine walked away without a scratch.

“Then what do we do…”

“Even if she weren’t in the picture, Rowan doesn’t have any feelings for me. Just let it go-”

Maddie sounded utterly defeated.

She hadn’t expected Lyra to give up so easily.

It wasn’t like her.

But if the person involved was letting it go, what else could she do?

Maddie hung up dejectedly, but still stubbornly sent Lyra the photos of Rowan and Jasmine, hoping to ignite some spark of fight in her.

It wasn’t until Lyra texted back: “Stop sending them, my storage is almost full.”

Maddie finally gave up.

Seeing those familiar photos again stirred an indescribable wave of emotion within Lyra.

On the night of the Lantern Festival, after leaving the dinner, Rowan had picked up his girlfriend and taken her to Seaborne City’s famous ancient tower. He had set off a city-wide fireworks display just for Jasmine, which bystanders had filmed and posted online.

In one photo, the two stood side by side, Rowan turning his head to look at Jasmine with eyes full of utter devotion.

Many of the pictures didn’t even show physical contact, just their gazes meeting softly, sharing an unbreakable, intimate bond that no one else could touch.

Subtle yet incredibly warm.

The internet was eating it up.

In her past life, Lyra had been young and dramatic. Seeing those photos had driven her insane. Unable to swallow the humiliation, she had driven recklessly through the night straight to the Jameson estate to cause a scene in front of Rowan’s grandfather.

But now, she quietly deleted the photos from her chat history. Feeling absolutely nothing, she washed up and went to bed.

By the next morning, all the photos of Rowan and Jasmine had been wiped from the internet.

At noon, Lyra wrapped up her morning work and grabbed lunch at the cafeteria.

After eating, she drove over to the Sutton Residence.

Parking outside the villa, Lyra stepped out of her car. Through the ornate wrought-iron gates, she spotted Vivienne Jameson and her husband, Richard Sutton, chatting and laughing as they walked

Rowan and Jasmine out.

Lyra froze, quickly ducking behind a large decorative shrub.

Vivienne was different from the rest of the Jameson family. While the others could at least fake affection for Lyra, Vivienne had always despised her, both before and after her marriage in the previous life. Yet right now, Vivienne was showing a level of warmth Lyra had never witnessed, holding Jasmine’s hand as they walked out together.

Rowan and Mr. Sutton followed closely behind the two women.
