Chapter 177 The Scapegoat Strikes Back
James and Josephine burst out laughing.
“But how exactly are we supposed to pull this off?” Josephine asked.

“It’s simple. Darius, you need to destroy every piece of evidence tied to that auction from three years ago-financial records, contact logs, everything. Meanwhile, we’ll deliberately leak a few rumors saying Evan swapped out Mr. Solomon’s drakeblood gemstone, and we’ll even forge evidence showing the fake gemstone in Evan’s possession. After that, we just let things take their course. Mr. Solomon will naturally go looking for Evan first,” Colette said smoothly.
The triplets truly lived up to being the Norwood family’s crowned jewels-just a few words, and they had smoothly redirected the disaster onto Evan.
Destroying records, spreading rumors, forging evidence… that entire routine was child’s play for them. The triplets had used similar methods countless times to ruin business competitors.
Darius finally relaxed, a thin, vicious smile tugging at his mouth. ‘Evan took the fall for me three years ago-and he’ll take it again. But this time, no one will be able to save him.’
But out loud, he put on a hesitant front. “Alice, Beverly, Colette… he’s not one of us anymore. Making him take the blame for me again doesn’t feel right, does it?”
Before the triplets could answer, Josephine cut in, voice sharp. “Why not? Sure, he’s no longer with us, but what about everything we did for him? Did we raise him all those years for nothing?”
“That’s right,” James sneered. “He owes us. We fed him, raised him, treated him like our own–and he doesn’t even have a drop of Norwood blood. Shouldn’t he repay that? Taking the blame for Darius is the least he can do.” His eyes narrowed. “If we want, we can make him take responsibility for anything. And if he refuses, that just proves he’s ungrateful.”
Alice frowned slightly. “Dad, forget this ‘kindness’ talk.” Her tone went cold. “Let me be blunt-someone who doesn’t share our blood will always be a risk. No matter how well he treats you. Outsiders are outsiders.”
“Exactly. Actions lead to consequences. We raised Evan for over a decade. Now that trouble has befallen, he should bear it for us. It’s fate,” Beverly and Colette added together.
And just like that, the Norwood family believed their crisis was solved. Once their plan was set, they put it into motion
immediately.

Meanwhile, across the city, Ivana moved fast-as always—and soon called back. “Got it. Kiddo, you were right. Darius is definitely hiding something.”
She forwarded all the information over.
What surprised Evan was that she hadn’t only found three years of financial records-she’d uncovered other evidence as well: sale inventories, item lists, even footage from the auction itself.
Darius would never have imagined that the evidence he was determined to erase had now fallen completely into Evan’s hands, because of Ivana’s investigation.
Seeing Darius’ clear figure and face in the video, Evan couldn’t help but laugh. “Let’s see how you plan to escape this time, Darius.”
‘Three years ago, you framed me. Now we settle the score-properly.’ A razor-sharp cold glint flashed through Evan’s eyes. Just as he was going through the evidence, his phone suddenly rang. It was an unfamiliar number.
Evan picked up. “Hello? Who’s this?”
