"Did it work? Did it work?" Damon panted. He felt like something was different this time, so he was pretty sure that his technique worked. However, Necrogod only weakly smiled with a slight nod of his head.
"What happened? What's wrong? You should be stronger now?"
"I did get stronger. +1 vitality." Necrogod laughed this time.
Damon scratched his head in frustration. "It's fine. It worked, didn't it? Then I just have to do this a bunch of times. Don't worry. You will get out of here one way or the other."
Necrogod shook his head. "You are out of time, Blood God." He pointed to the storm that was quickly picking up speed in the distance.
Damon did not give up. He continued gathering the next batch of blood essence. Even as the memory storm was right in front of them, he took out the next spear and thrust forward.
Unfortunately, it was once again just a +1 vitality. "It's fine. Everybody has to die sometime. Don't fret too much about it. Save my corpse if possible, will you? Who knows, maybe if you reach godhood sometime, maybe you can bring me back?"
"Fuck. Fuck." Damon cursed. He quickly grabbed Necrogod and moved to another location. But this, too, gave only a couple more minutes in which he managed to transfer two more stat points, this time strength and agility.
In all the haste and panic, he wasn't able to do much better. To make things worse, three more storms started chasing them. Damon already knew it. The more they ran, the worse it was going to become. He was about to pick up Necrogod and go to another location when Necrogod shook his head.
"This is how I came across the golden storm. Don't do this. We won't survive it. Don't you have like twenty wives to take care of? Why do you want to die here with me?"
Damon gritted his teeth and did it anyway. "I am going to get hit by that sooner or later. So what if it's sooner? It has nothing to do with you." He had already tried using his soul space to save Necrogod, but the system did not allow for such a loophole. He did not know if it was this world or if it was a system-imposed rule. He was just not able to put Necrogod in his soulspace and leave him there.
He was able to use his soulspace, but transferring another participant inside seemed to be a no-go.
He was able to use his soulspace, but transferring another participant inside seemed to be a no-go.
The only other option was to make Necrogod his follower. It would instantly give him a boost of stats. The question was, would it be enough to save him inside a memory storm?
There was no more time to think about it. This time, five storms were coming at them, and he only had a fraction of a second to act.
Damon picked up the half-dead guy and ran straight into one of the storms before the five storms could converge. At the same time, another blood spear materialized in front of him, which he thrust down without hesitation.
Necrogod, who was laughing maniacally until now, suddenly froze. The bitter, helpless expression on his face morphed into something else as he silently accepted the option in front of him.
The next moment, everything turned blurry, and the world around them changed. "Good luck." Damon's voice echoed as Necrogod found himself flung into a new world.
