Chapter 732 Loophole!

Necrogod stared at the demon with a bitter smile. So many things had happened, and in the end, Blood God even somehow saved him from the brink of death, pulling a miracle out of his ass, and yet… he was once again going to die.

If only his legendary staff hadn't crapped out on him… That staff was his anchor. His crown. His greatest trump card. Without it, he was just another fragile necromancer standing on cursed ground.

Was there any way he could still come out of this alive… somehow? His vision blurred. His chest burned. His mana pool felt like a cracked vessel leaking faster than he could refill it. And yet… Necrogod clenched his teeth. He was not willing to give up. He slammed the butt of his staff into the dry ground. Darkness surged. One by one, necromantic sigils ignited around him. From beneath the sands, skeletal hands clawed their way upward. Cracked ribs. Broken skulls. Half-formed undead dragged themselves into existence. "Come on…" Necrogod gasped. "Move… move… move!"

More mana poured out of him, reckless and uncontrolled. His veins felt like they were on fire. Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth, splashing onto the sand.

Clearly, this much was not enough to do anything. He needed to activate his true trumpcard. The ground shuddered violently. A massive summoning circle carved itself beneath him, fed directly by his lifespan. Years, decades, were ripped away in an instant. His hair lost its sheen. His skin grew pale and tight against bone.

Necrogod wheezed. He was just a step away from losing everything that made him human but he did not care. His vision tunneled, but a spark of wild hope ignited in his eyes. If this works… if I can just hold on for a few more seconds… A crooked grin formed on his face as he watched the summoning suceed.

A towering presence began to rise behind him, something far older and far more dangerous than the mindless fodder he usually commanded. The air turned frigid. Even the ground darkened, as if stained by ancient death.

The summoning circle shattered outward in a violent burst of black light. A gauntleted hand rose from the center of the circle. It was not skeletal and not rotting. It was not stitched together like Necrogod's usual creations.

It was an armored undead. Black steel layered in jagged plates, etched with ancient runes. A second hand emerged. Then a helm. The undead pulled itself free of the circle in one smooth, deliberate motion, as if rising from a throne rather than clawing out of a grave. It stood majestically, matching the demonic creature in all aspects.

A torn black cape hung from its shoulders, unmoving despite the wind. Its armor was scorched and scarred, as if it had seen a thousand battles. Two hollow eye sockets burned with cold blue flame that made everyone who looked into its eyes shudder. In its right hand, it held a massive greatsword. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

Necrogod laughed, his breathing ragged and his body barely holding on. "I… command you… my death knight…" he whispered hoarsely. "Stand… with me… and kill for me."

The demonic creature grunted in annoyance. He didn't seem to care much for the big fellow. He simply thrusted his other hand forward and punched, this time aiming for Necrogod. Instantly, a powerful shockwave rose, the attack coming straight for the weak and frail figure but before it could touch him, the death knight appeared in front of him.

The massive great sword swung down casually and the shockwave that had been tearing toward Necrogod split cleanly down the center as if it had struck an invisible wall. The ground on either side exploded outward in twin arcs, carving trenches dozens of meters long. But Necrogod remained untouched.

The colosseum crowd became silent for a moment. No one had expected this sort of comeback. The demonic creature fumed. He roared and charged forward, fully engaging in a bloody fight with the death knight.

Each blow exchanged sent destruction in all directions. The entire colosseum ground quaked. The crowd erupted in chaos. No one had expected the pitiful slave to perform so well. Surprisingly, the crowd did not look pleased. Instead only a angry disappointed look appeared on many faces.

Especially, on the face of a man sitting on a humongous throne at the head of the colosseum. He silently raised his hand and the guard next to him bowed. The guard then quickly gave instructions to someone else who relayed it to another person. A couple of seconds later, a rumbling sound echoed in the colosseum.
