Stepbrother Mine A Son For Alpha Zoren (Ciara) novel Chapter 10

“That woman… isn’t she your step sister?” Ethan, my beta asked me minutes after I stepped out of my office, his eyes filled with so much confusion as he looked at me. I pulled in deep breaths from my nose and mouth at the same time to try to flush out the scent of Ciara from my lungs right now, cause being in that office wife her had made her scent fill up every inch of my insides. I hated that it’s been years and yet, her scent still had such a strong hold on me like I remembered it having on me in the past.

“Ex-step sister.” I finally echoed as I walked past Ethan who let out a huff as he fell into steps beside me.

“That doesn’t make a lot of sense.” He pointed out and I let out a low growl of warming which instantly had him shutting up. I wasn’t in the mood to joke right now. I feel very irritated, because I searched for Ciara for five years and I’ve hated her so much during that period, only to come across her and see that her scent still got my wolf purring in excitement and satisfaction. It angered me so much that Ib five years, I haven’t smelt anything as delectable as her.

For a moment, I remembered the male scent I caught on her body right before she revealed that she had a boyfriend in her life. That made a flash of red move over my mind, one which I quickly shoved to the back of my mind, then I quickly reminded myself that it was none of my business if she had a boyfriend. After all, I hated her and wanted absolutely nothing to do with a deceitful woman like her.

However, she bared a child for me, and now he’s five years.

Never in my wildest dream did I imagine that I’d ever have a kid outside without knowing.

But he was real, and he actually exists. I saw him with my own eyes and even spoke to me. He had fire in his eyes and he reminded me much of me while I was growing up. He looked so much like me that it was jarring to say the least. The little exchange I had with him made me happy, he was clearly fearless and bold and those are the perfect traits of alphas. But he’s in need of help and as his father, I’ll ensure that he gets that to the fullest. I didn’t even know a single thing about bringing up kids, and I wasn’t that fond of kids because they could be little terrors, but I already liked my son, and I couldn’t wait to form a bond with him.

“As do I.” Xan, my wolf purred in agreement within me.

“Where is Erica?” I asked Ethan who was still walking beside me. I needed to have a conversation with her

quickly.

“In the garden. Would you like me to send for her?” He asked and I shook my head.

“No, I’ll just go meet her there.” I tell him and was about to take the corner leading there when he stopped me.

“Wait, Zoren. I have a question.” He stepped in front of me, a hand held up respectful. I let out a sigh before focusing on him again.

“What is it, Ethan?”

“That woman, she’s the same woman we’ve searched for relentlessly for years, isn’t she?” He asked and I shot him a sharp look before reluctantly nodding.

“And the kid she had with her when we captured her… he looked so much like you. Are you gonna address that yet? Rumors are already spreading around this hideout and in no time, it will leave here and spread through the pack.” He pointed out, ever strategic as a beta usually is. I let out a long sigh, feeling drained as hell by this whole thing.

“Yes, turns out he’s my son, which I had no idea edited until today.” I muttered and Ethan nodded, although a looked a little shocked like hadn’t already figured that out.

“This means… your step-sister is the mother. She’s the woman you mistakenly marked five years ago?” He asked, sounding incredulous right now and I let out a huff, scowling at him.

“We weren’t step siblings for long, don’t sound like that,” I snapped and he held his hands up defensively.

“I’m not judging, I just wanna fully understand this, if she’s the same woman you mistakenly marked, who you’ Successfully unlocked!

ve been searching for… this means now you can finally sever the bond that bite mistakenly forged, right?” He asked and I nodded, relief tricking through my chest.

“That’s correct.”

“And you’ll still do it, right? You’ll still go ahead to sever it even though it turns out she has bore you a son.” He asked, his eyebrows arched as he stared at me. I felt my scowl deepen as I scoffed.

“Of course, why wouldn’t I? My plan hasn’t changed, I’m still gonna sever that bond, then I’ll be able to finally wed Erica and give the pack what they want.” I explained, wondering why he was even asking that question. “Cause now that you’ve met with that woman and she has birthed you a son, you might wanna officially get together with her now-” he was still speaking when I growled, which made him instantly trail off. “That’s impossible, and ridiculous to even think about. Aside from the fact that she’s a human and humans can’t sit on the throne, I also hate her and that hasn’t magically changed. She wasn’t what she claimed to be in the past, she’s deceitful, manipulative and not like what she seems at all. So, no way would I get together with someone like that. What happened between us was nothing but a mistake and in the past now. Since she’s here, I’ll sever the bond between us as fast as possible, then I’ll get together with Erica and finally give the pack a Luna.” I informed him, voice firm and leaving no room for arguments.

He nodded once I finished. “I understand, alpha.”

I didn’t respond, I just walked past him, heading for the garden where Erica is supposedly waiting.

For years, mating with Erica was impossible because of that bite I mistakenly gave Ciara five years ago. That made my wolf get bonded with her, which made it impossible for me to bond with someone else, cause a bond was already in place within me. One which was silent and dark for the past five years, which I detested so much and blamed for all the suffering I went through for the past five years.

That bond single handedly ruined my life. In five years, because of that bond, I didn’t find any other woman attractive, could barely feel the urge to fuck like I usually used to. The only woman my wolf tolerated enough for us to bed was Erica, the woman I was arranged to get married to five years ago by my father because she was from a family of strong wolves. That ended up being a good thing, because aside from the fact that I never got to find my fated mate, because of the strong wolf blood in Erica’s veins, my wolf was able to tolerate her over any other wolves. So she warmed my bed for the past five years, and accompanied me to functions as my plus one, even though we weren’t able to officially get mated because of that wretched bond I mistakenly formed with Ciara years ago.

Erica was truly waiting in the garden, by the wisterias and lilies. I hated those flowers because I had it planted because it resembles what Ciara smelt like. It was after I met with her again today that I realized that the scents of the flowers completely paled in comparison to her rich scent. Erica was seated and a few maids stood around her, gushing and giggling, but once they noticed my presence, they instantly stiffened before scurrying off. Erica smoothly stood and turned around, then she approached me, a grin splitting her face.

“My alpha.” She purred, slouching the wine her grasp as she stepped forward hug me, but out here in the wind, my nose felt extra sensitive to her scent and I held her back while my nose twitched a little.

“How was your trip?” I asked, cause she travelled for about a week and just returned today. She shrugged, then she grinned at me again.

“It would have been more fun with you.” She sighed and I snorted.

“I’m too busy for trips, you know that.”

She nodded while pouting. “Yes, unfortunately.” She muttered before a small frown settled on her face. “Who was that woman back there in your office?”

She added almost immediately. “You were standing very close to her when I came in.”

I rolled my eyes. “You shouldn’t have come in without knocking, Erica. We’ve talked about this. Understood?”

She pursed my lips. “But we’ve gonna get married whenever you find that woman you mistakenly marked years ago. Why can’t I be allowed to come into your office whenever?” She asked, pouting hard and clearly displeased. Just like everyone else, Erica had no idea the woman I mistakenly marked years ago was my step

sister. Not even my father knew that. He believed it was a faceless woman and had been so disappointed in me, but that was better than him finding out it was the daughter of the woman who betrayed his trust and fled. “That’s correct, but it doesn’t change my rule. What goes on in my office most of the time is private and confidential,” I informed her and she sighed again before reluctantly nodding.

“Fine,” she finally grumbled before her face brightened up. “Are we still going to the function scheduled for tonight?” She asked, already forgetting about Ciara.

I nodded. “Yes, we are.”

She beamed, because I never accompanied her to most of those and preferred she go by herself as my woman. She liked that she gets addressed and known by the whole pack as my woman, but I know she’d like it better if I accompanied her to those functions. But the only reason I’d be accompanying her on this one was because it was an annual function that every royal family attends.

“By the way, my father was asking when we’ve finally get mated and wedded. Are you yet to find the woman you mistakenly marked years ago?” She asked, frowning a little.

“In a bit. I already know where the woman is. Severing the mistake bond is gonna be a piece of cake then we’ll get mated.” I told her and she beamed and threw herself into my arms.

“I’m so happy!!! Finally, after five years!!!” She gushed happily, clinging to me tightly. I remained stiff, not used to physical touch outside the bedroom at all. I patted her awkwardly over the back twice before gently pulling her off. It was ironic that it’s been five years with Erica and I wasn’t used to her physically touching me. “I’ll go wait in the ivory room, perhaps we can celebrate this good news with a good round of orgasms. I’ll wear that lingerie of mine like you like it.” She gushed out, clearly excited as hell.

But I wasn’t. I was convinced after finding Ciara, I’d be the most relieved person. But right now, I feel numb. “Don’t go to the ivory room, go to a different room.” I tell her and she frowned, her brows furrowing.

“Why?”

“Don’t ask questions, just do as I say,” I tell her, my voice indicating how serious I am.

She pursed her lips, clearly not happy. “You don’t tell me anything!” She whined before turning and walking off and I resisted the urge to roll my eyes. What do I wanna talk to her about? About the most trendiest clothes and shoes on the internet? Cause that’s only what she cared about, that and showing off to the public.

And in a way, that was okay for me. It made her very tolerable, the fact that she completely stays out of my business and doesn’t ask questions once ordered not to. Erica was sweet and although materialistic, she couldn’t hurt a fly.

Her getting on the Luna throne wouldn’t mean she’d actually rule beside me, because frankly, she isn’t capable despite having strong wolf blood within her. She’ll only be on the throne for show, to have more bragging rights and more authority, and I’m certain that’s all she’d be interested in anyway. She’s the best Luna i can give my pack, cause she’s well loved by everyone so they’ll be very pleased after waiting for so many years.

My phone rang at that moment and I stiffened before pulling it out of my pockets and instantly accepting it on realizing it was my father.

“Father.” I echoed. My father became a mess after his newly wedded wife betrayed and stole from him. He was so affected that he was unable to keep ruling, and that was when I had to make the important decision of stepping up at once. I’ve ruled the pack single-handedly ever since and I’m proud of how far I’ve come and how much I’ve expanded the pack far and wide, growing it into one of the top three biggest packs in the

country.

“Son, how are you?” He asked and I snorted because I knew what he called to actually ask. He was calling to ask if I’ve finally found the woman I mistakenly marked years ago. He’d been calling constantly because of that, because he wants me to finally settle down and have a Luna, and also because he wants a grandchild so badly.

“I know why you’re calling.” I tell him flatly and he laughed a little, sounding guilty.

“Alright, you got me.” He sighed out. “You know I try not to pressure you because I know you’re shouldering such a heavy load, especially without the help of a Luna. But I wish you’d finally find that woman so that you can sever that mistake and finally get mated to Erica.” He pointed out before adding quickly.

“And you know I can’t wait for grandkids. I’m not getting any younger.”

I briefly wondered how my father would react to the thought of already having a grandchild. Would he be ecstatic? Would he be unhappy on discovering who the mother is?

In the past, if anyone had told me that my father and I would end up settling our differences and repairing our relationships, I’d have laughed in their faces. But what’s exactly what happened after he became a mess after getting backstabbed by people he believed were additions to his family. I wasn’t sure of why we didn’t get along in the past, perhaps it was my hormones because of the class of alpha I belonged to.

S-class alphas find it hard to take orders, and tend to get rebellious during their teenage and early adult stage. I had no idea I was gonna be one, because I got my wolf in my early teens, which is the normal age all wolves get theirs. My mind instantly returned to my son who had awakened his wolf at such a young age, which is also an S-class alpha. I wasn’t sure of how that was possible and I already planned to call the pack doctor to come look him over tomorrow morning.

“I have good news, father. I’ve finally seen the woman.” I told him and he made a relieved, happy sound. “You have? So, what’s her name? And where was she this whole time?” He asked and I huffed.

“You don’t need to know that, father, but I’ll finally sever the bond and then I’ll mate with Erica.” I assured him and he let out another relieved sound.

“I’m so happy and so relieved, Zoren. After five good years, this one mistake you made is finally getting reversed. It’s been five years since I also made the mistake of trusting and marrying someone who betrayed me. So, I guess this is a marking point for the two of us, to the start of a new beginning, yes?”

My throat felt dry and I swallowed hard. “Ah, yeah. You’re right,”

After that, we talked for a bit more before the call finally ended. As I shoved the phone back into my pocket, my mind reeked as my mind circled back to Ciara, and a wave of surprise settled over me because I still don’t believe that I finally crossed paths with her after almost losing hope. I had men positioned by that house which we were living in years ago, believing that they’ll one day return, to probably come and try to trick us again. Those men we ordered to capture her or the rest of her family should they see them out there. I feel relieved that the guards were able to recognize her even with her different hair color.

She hasn’t changed much even with her red hair.

Her face was still soft and gorgeous in an unreal way. But there were eye bags underneath her eyes, like she doesn’t sleep well or has been toiling hard during the past years. That made me wonder what she had been
