Chapter 50
65 you ther
“So, you like Zoren, right?” Ciara sounded calm and warm and I admired that she was able to control her emotions well.
“Yes, I do! He’s cool and he plays with me.” He beamed as he responded and my heart warmed fast.
Ciara’s eyes met mine for a moment before she faced Kai again.
“Well, I have something to tell you concerning Zoren and you.” She continued carefully, swallowing visibly. Weirdly. I wanted to reach out to hold her hand but ended up deciding against it
“Zoren is your father.” Ciara revealed bluntly before the moment could drag out
I sucked in a sharp breath just as silence stretched out in the room we were presently in. Kai had a shocked look on his face. his mouth hanging open as he slowly looked between Ciara and L
“Take your time, baby. To- process this shocking news.” Ciara murmured softly as she kissed his head again.
After what felt like enternity but is actually some minutes, Kai exhaled long and hard.
“Wow.”
I swallowed. Was that a good or bad wow?
He faced me next as he spoke. “You’re really my daddy?” He slinged so hesitant and it broke my heart
I nodded fast, feeling choked up. “Of course. I’m your father, your daddy.”
“Why were you away when I was growing up?” He asked, not frowning but just looking confused.
Ciara’s eyes met mine and she winced.
She opened her mouth to speak but I cut her off, not wanting her to take the blame for keeping Kai from me.
“Your mommy and I lost contact. That’s why.” I breathed out. “I had no idea you exited until when your mommy came to find me.”
“Oh,” he mumbled quietly.
His lack of reaction was frightening and I exchanged a look with Ciara before she gently nudged him.
“What do you think, honey? Or, are you still processing it?”
Kai swallowed. “I thought my daddy abandoned us. I thought that was why we suffered so much and you had to work so much,” he revealed. “I thought he didn’t want me.”
Oh fuck.
“Oh, no baby. That’s not the case at all. Why would you think that?”
He shrugged. “Nico said that to his friend over the phone.”
My eyes flared with anger. That was her stupid boyfriend that she’s still yet to break up with.
“That’s not true at all. Zoren definitely wants and loves you.” Ciara breathed out and Kai looked over at me again.
“I love Zoren too.” He finally murmured and I heaved out a deep sigh of relief. “B- but as a friend. As best buddies. I don’t know how to call him ‘daddy‘ yet,”

Chapter 50
“That’s fine! You can take your time, son.” I breathed out fast, the last word managing to slip out.
That made Kal crack a smile, then he sighed. “I can’t believe I have a daddy.”
I held a hand out to him which he stood up to take and that warned my heart further.

“You have a father who loves you so much and will do anything to protect you, okay?” I began, my voice a little choked.
“I might not have been in your life in the past but now that I’m in it, I’ll never leave no matter what and you’ll never not have a father again. I’ll try to fully get to know you even more and we’ll keep on being best buds, but also father and son, Yeah?”
Kai was grinning, his eyes appearing a little watery as he nodded.
“Yeah.” He whispered, clutching his shirt.
“Can I hug you, son?” I asked. If he consents, this would be our first official hug.
I was completely taken offguard when he suddenly flew forward and threw himself in my arms, his arms going around my shoulders. I held him tightly, my chest aching and my eyes stinging a little. I ran a hand through his hair and back, reminding myself that I was finally holding my son in my own hands.
My own son.
My wolf was beyond happy right now as well.
When I looked over at Ciara, she was dabbing her cheeks and sniffling.
After the hug broke, Kai was beaming, looking shy but happy and that pleased me immensely.
When he looked over at his mother, he frowned just as she quickly spoke admidst a chuckle. “Baby, these are happy tears, okay?”
After he left to go hang out with my father, I moved towards Ciara, unable to keep myself away from her a second longer. I cupped her cheeks, my thumb stroking the tear tracks.
“Happy tears?”
She nodded. “I just… It made me happy that he finally knows he has a father. I had no idea he felt that way this past years.” She whispered vrokenly but I shushed her.
“There’s no use crying over spilled milk, and it’s not your fault, okay? What’s important is the present. Kai now has a father, a grandfather, a lot of cousins who’ll shower him with so much love and attention.”
“That makes me happy, that he’ll finally have a large family.” She whispered softly.
As I kept staring at her, my eyes darted to her lips and I felt desire lurch in my chest. I knew that wasn’t the right time at all to be feeling this way, but I don’t seem to have any control over my body these days even it came to her.
My thumb stopped on her bottom lip and I stroked it, watching as her face flushed as she exhaled slowly. I leaved down, and she watched without pulling away. Just as our lips could meet, we were intrrripting my a knock on the door.
I let out an annoyed cuss as I pulled away.
“Who’s that?”
“Sir… you have important guards.” A voice called out, that was definitely a guard.
“Who? Whoever they are can wait.” I called out and Thebes around to cup Ciara’s face again, prepared to resume from where we stopped at when the voice called out again.
