I felt beyond irritated as I walked over to my father’s study room where my guests are apparently waiting for me at. I badly want to remain back there with Ciara and do a lot of dirty things to her body, but unfortunately this is importsnt. She had looked worried after hearing the guards announcing but I had quickly assured her nothing was wrong.

Erica’s father, Tobias, was fuming and marching around by the time I arrived in the study room and he threw me a sharp glare at once, one which didn’t faze me at all.

“What do we have here?” I drawled as I stepped in deeper into the room to stand beside my father who lolled as stressed out as I anticipated. He and Tobias used to be close friends before they drifted apart.

“Aren’t you gonna acknowledge my presence? Am I already invisible to you?” Erica’s shrill voice filled the air. She was sitting in one of the chairs in here, her arms hugging herself. She was dressed in a black skin tight dress, like she’s in mourning cause she’s never dressed in black in our five years of dating.

“Erica. You know I don’t wanna see you. Why are you here?” I asked after a few moments.

Her father stepped forward, his nose flaring angrily as he spoke.

“You can’t just discard my daughter like that. After five years of her waiting by your side? You’ll just send her off? Impossible!” He hurled at me as he breathed hard. Beside me, my father let out a long sigh.

“Look, Tobias, I had my reasons for that, which I won’t be explaining to you. But I can’t get together with Erica anymore and that’s that.” I gritted out, already starting to feel more irritated. In the background, Erica let out a pitiful sob. Once upon a time, I’d have believed that was genuine, but now I know better. All my betas and jet have complained about her to me in the past but I always assured them they were being mistaken.

“I object! You must get married to her as promised: that was the initial agreement, no?” Tobias grounded out fiercely, his hands thrown apart.

“Sadly that can’t happen.”

“So what’s gonna happen to my daughter? After wasting five years with you? She’s to just what? Find someone else?” He demanded and I snorted before modding.

“Yeah, she really should.”

He spluttered while Erica let out another broken sound.

“Will you stop that?” I said to her in a hard voice and she jumped. “We both know that’s fake as fuck and you know I won’t buy these acts anymore. Or would you like me to re tsk to the class what you tried to do? To my son?” I demanded and at once, she jumped to her feet, tears running down her cheeks.

“You’re mistaken! I already told you that was a mix up!” She cried out as she tried to make her way towards me, but I ended up pushing her away before she could touch me.

“Enough!” I told her fiercely before facing my father.

“Don’t entertain these guests anymore on moving forward cause we have nothing joining us together anymore.” I gritted out before turning away in annoyance.

“You can’t just… just…” Tobias began when I held a hand up, cutting him off.

“Enough, Tobias. You don’t even care about your daughter, you’re actually this worked up just because our packs won’t get merged together anymore.” I snapped out before I could stop myself. I wasn’t gonna do this before but watching him act like

he was bothered about how Erica is presently feeling has annoyed me too much.

Tobias stood frozen, his mouth hanging open for a few seconds.

“That’s not true!!” He finally gritted out and I barked out a laugh.

“Don’t bother lying, even your daughter is aware.” I drawled while nodding towards Erica.

“This whole time, all you were bothered about was the joining of our packs. But guess what? I don’t wanna merge both packs anymore. Deal with it.”

He had a full mask of fury in his face as he seethed. “You can’t just back out of a deal like this. We had an agreement.”

“It’s unfortunate that things had to end this way. I’d have liked things to end on good terms at least, but after what your daughter tried to do, I went completely nothing to do with you and your pack on moving around.” I pointed out as I shoved my hands in my pockets.

My father stepped forward and held his hands up, finally interfering. “Let’s all calm down, there’s no use in us fighting.”

“I’m handing this, father.” I reminded my father who let out a long sigh.

“What did my daughter do?” Tobias demanded and I rolled my eyes.

“Why don’t you ask your precious daughter?”

He let out a growl. “I already did, and she said she did nothing. Absolutely nothing. But what can she do anyway? She can never hurt anyone, you’re just trying hard to find an excuse to send her away.” He gritted out angrily and I scoffed as I regarded him.

It was pointless still exchanging words with him.

“I already told you my stance on this topic and I won’t be changing my mind.” I reminded him in a calm voice.

“Then that means you’re asking for war!” He seethed and I couldn’t help but roll my eyes.

“Whatever. Do what you want.” I told him.

He remained standing for about a minute whine just staring at me, probably cause he assumed I’d try begging him to not bring war to us. I’d have probably done that in the past but not now that my pack is the biggest there is in this region.

“You’ll regret this.” He swore before he turned and stormed out of the room, the door slamming hard after him. My father let out a sigh as he took his seat, looking so drained from merely being present in this entire exchange.

My eyes darted towards Erica who was still standing in here. She opened her mouth to speak when I held a hand up.

“Whatever it is you wanna say, I don’t wanna hear it. Leave with your father.”

She pursed her lips.

“I just wanna say that I know that you really ended thighs with me because of Ciara. And I wanna say that you’ll really regret it if you don’t set things right and get together with me.”

I let out a laugh. This girl is really full of surprises.

“Show yourself to the door, erica.” I informed her and she kept on staring at me before finally doing just that. But of course she stopped by the door to get one more sentence in.

“You’ll regret this, my love. And you’ll come looking for me. I just hope that by then, it wouldn’t be too late,”

I almozt laughed after she left but I was feeling too irritated by the entire situation to do just that. As I sank into one of the chairs here, I looked over at my father to take in the stormy look on his face. He also looked very disappointed.

“This was what I was avoiding all along.” He pointed out and I sighed while shrugging.

“It can’t be helped.”

“They’ll really bring war our way: Tobias hates being walked over and you just did that to him.” He added as he massaged his forehead.

“Whatever, he can do whatever he wants. I’m right here.”

“Why did you end things with Erica anyway? She’s perfect for you, she’s also a perfect Luna material whom all the pack members loves.” He muttered before frowning. “She is loyal, she was by your side for five years. I prefer her for you over Ciara. Ciara isn’t loyal and would end up betraying you like her mother did to me.”

I sat up as I faced my father, then I let out a long exhale.

“Father, I already told you Ciara isn’t like her mother. She had nothing to do with it.”

My father looked very unconvinced. “You can’t be sure. What if she was lying to you? I’m saying this cause I remember how convincing her mother was.” He pointed out, leaning forward in his seat.

“I’m actually very sure. She’s not like that at all. You’ll certainly see in no time.” I breathed out, running a hand through my hair.

I was about to take the last turn leading to that room when I head a giggle, one that sounded so familiar. I stiffened and listened as the sound rang out again.

That was Ciara.

I turned around, chancing my path and following that sound. Who was she with and who was making her laugh this way? My wolf was at alert right, ready to pounce on anyone that was making his mate right now.

I finally arrived at the scene and my eyes squinted at the sight right in front of me right now. It was of Ciara and one of my childhood friends, in a tight embrace. And Ciara was giggling at something he said in her ears just now.
