"Is she your biological sister? Are you two related by blood? Even if she were, she's an adult now. You should both know better and have some boundaries."
"A woman like Lily Sutton, who dresses so provocatively and clings to a married man's arm while claiming to be his 'sister,' used to be called a shameless harlot in the old days. Today, we just call her a homewrecker."
Lily turned ashen, completely losing the bright, confident arrogance she had displayed just moments before.
The crowd around them was growing, and several people had pulled out their phones to record the scene.
Xavier's expression turned stony. He was terrified the situation would escalate and reach his grandfather's ears, which would be disastrous.
He needed to pacify Summer first.
With that thought, Xavier shot his bodyguards a look, silently ordering them to clear the onlookers, before stepping forward to pull Summer into his arms.
The moment Xavier got close, Summer caught his scent. Masking his familiar cologne was the undeniable, sickeningly sweet fragrance of another woman's perfume.
The scent hit her like a physical blow, making her stomach churn violently.
"Enough, Summer. I can expl—"
"Don't touch me. You reek. It's disgusting." Summer shoved him hard, backing away several paces to put distance between them.
Xavier didn't miss the intense revulsion in her eyes. As a man, his pride was wounded, and Summer's repeated provocations were rapidly draining his patience.
"Summer!"
Two male voices rang out simultaneously. One was Xavier's cold, furious reprimand; the other was warm and clear.
Summer followed the gentle voice and turned to see Sebastian Stone.
Sebastian was pushing a sleek suitcase, having evidently just stepped off a flight. He was dressed in a sharp, custom-tailored black suit that accentuated his tall, commanding frame.
A pair of gold-rimmed glasses rested on the bridge of his nose, giving him an aura of refined elegance.
He walked over to Summer, leaned down, and gave her a polite, gentlemanly hug. "Long time no see, Summer."
He had definitely seen the confrontation and hugged her deliberately to show his support.
He knew all of Summer's relatives. There was absolutely no way Sebastian Stone was her uncle.
So where the hell did this 'uncle' come from?
He watched as Summer turned to leave with Sebastian.
He couldn't just let her walk away.
Xavier pinched the bridge of his nose and stepped forward to go after her. "Summer!"
In that instant, a fierce flash of pure hatred sparked in Lily's eyes.
Years ago, Xavier had only pursued Summer out of spite, purely to make Lily jealous.
If Summer hadn't been so naive as to accept his advances, Lily never would have gotten jealous and fought with Xavier's older brother.
And if that hadn't happened, Xavier's brother wouldn't have gotten into that car crash and ended up in a vegetative state.
