Substitute Wife, Genius CEO novel Chapter 131

Lily Sutton had her assistant get Tiffany Miller's contact info.

After Summer Vance transferred Edward and Maeve Vance to a new hospital, she explained her situation with Xavier Sterling to them. Both supported her divorce.

Knowing she had only just started working at Gavin Loomis's company, they urged her to go back to work.

With the transfer complete, they no longer had to worry about the Vance family causing trouble, and the hospital nurses were incredibly diligent. Summer obediently returned to the office.

She ran into Jude Montgomery in the parking garage.

Jude smiled in greeting. "Summer, how are your parents recovering?"

"Pretty well."

As they spoke, Gavin Loomis arrived, and the three of them took the elevator together.

After Gavin asked about Summer's parents, he mentioned, "I have to head over to the client's office for a meeting soon."

Going to the client's office basically meant bowing and scraping like a servant.

Summer and Jude gave him looks of deep sympathy.

A second later, Jude remembered something. "Wait, isn't today the start of the 19th Annual AI Innovations Summit?"

The AI Summit gathered the top AI research talents in the country to discuss research papers and cutting-edge technology.

It was an incredibly rare learning opportunity.

Gavin nodded. "Perfect timing for Summer. You two should go. Oh, and by the way,"

He gave a mysterious smile. "Our professor will be there too."

Jude gasped. "Old Man Banks is back?"

Just the thought of a conference gave Jude a headache, let alone one attended by Harrison Banks. He'd much rather sit in the office coding or go suck up to clients.

Gavin smirked mischievously. "Make sure you perform well. He's definitely going to test you both." That was a given.

Jude suggested, "Gavin, how about you let me go play servant for the client instead?"

He absolutely did not want to see the old man, who had an explosive temper, a toxic mouth, and loved to dole out smacks.

From a distance, Lily Sutton saw the scene, entirely unable to hide the smirk tugging at her lips.

The surrounding media swarmed Xavier and Lily, instantly forming a wall of people three layers deep.

Even with bodyguards holding the line, Lily was pushed around until she could barely stand.

Compared to Summer's clumsy moment, Lily was much luckier. Xavier steadily caught her, then deliberately guided her hand to rest in the crook of his arm.

Lily gloated internally, but kept her eyes fixed on Summer. She feigned hesitation. "Summer is right there."

Xavier cast a cold, indifferent glance toward Summer at the edge of the crowd. He looked at her as if she were a total stranger.

After a single glance, Xavier dismissively looked away. He gave Lily a reassuring look. "It's fine. Leave it like this."

Only then did Lily flash a radiant smile. She intimately clung to Xavier's arm, accepting the media interviews with the poised grace of a beautiful swan.

It drew endless praise and envy.

"Ms. Sutton, we hear you'll be representing Sterling Group at the conference today, and that you'll be voluntarily sharing some of the source code for your award-winning patent? To provide inspiration and a learning opportunity for other researchers?"

Lily nodded with a graceful smile. "Yes, that's correct."
