Deep down, Xavier knew he was at fault. “I didn't mean it like that,” he reflexively explained. “I just—”

Summer had no patience for his excuses and cut him off. “The fact is, your assistant doesn't follow orders. Are you keeping such a useless assistant around for the holidays, Mr. Sterling?”

“You don't need to worry about my assistant.”

“Fine,” Summer nodded. “The gift has been returned. Goodbye, Mr. Sterling.”
