Substitute Wife, Genius CEO novel Chapter 255

Miles slowly curled his fingers into fists. "Lily, don't worry. Just like you protected me when we were kids, I will protect you. I won't let anyone hurt you."

Even if that person was the woman he loved.

Miles grabbed his phone and contacted his people in the States, ordering them to check the prison immediately and confirm if Xenia was still inside.

Results came back quickly.

"Mr. Sutton, Xenia Young is in prison."

"You saw her with your own eyes?"

"Yes, I visited the facility personally. I even took photos."

Miles clicked open the photos. The person in the picture was bare-faced, wearing a prison uniform, and it was undeniably Xenia.

Miles traced the face on the screen with his thumb. After staring for a long time, he finally locked his phone and lit a cigarette.

The next morning over breakfast, Miles shared the results with Lily.

Lily had been a nervous wreck because of Xenia and hadn't slept well the night before.

Even though all of Xenia's evidence regarding the patent had been destroyed by Miles, Lily still felt uneasy as long as Xenia wasn't safely locked away.

Hearing Miles' words now only made her more frustrated. She threw her spoon down. "Impossible! Miles, I wouldn't mistake her. It was definitely Xenia!"

Miles hadn't slept well either. He had tossed and turned all night, dreaming of Xenia's smiles and the moments they shared.

He pinched the bridge of his nose in exhaustion. "Lily, my men went to the prison to confirm it personally. They took pictures. I wouldn't mistake her."

Lily's brow furrowed tightly. "Miles, you don't understand. The two of them look almost identical. How can there be two identical people in this world?"

"If Xenia is really serving time in the States, then who did I see last night?"

Was her name actually Vivian?

Xavier had promised her last night that he would help investigate Vivian, but that took time.

But Lily didn't want to wait another second. She wanted to know the truth immediately.

Who exactly was she?

This question hung over Lily's head like a sword. It wouldn't kill her, but it tortured her endlessly, robbing her of any peace.

In a private dining room at a restaurant.

Silas Sinclair looked at Summer's unusual attire, a flash of awe crossing his eyes. "Are you cosplaying?"

Summer smiled. "Mr. Sinclair, whenever you see these green eyes from now on, please call me Pax."
