Silas glanced at the gift bag beside her. "Is it this one?"
Summer opened the box, revealing a watch with a shattered dial.
"Silas, I'll buy you a new gift the next time we meet."
Just as Summer was about to put the broken watch away, Silas reached out and pressed his hand down to stop her. "No need to wait. This one is perfect; the shattered dial has a very artistic flair."
As he spoke, Silas undid his cufflinks, rolled his sleeves up layer by layer, and then picked up the watch.
Silas had helped her so much, and here she was giving him a broken watch—even if it hadn't been her fault.
She couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed.
Summer hurriedly tried to stop him. "Silas, this one is broken. Let's really wait for next time."
Silas interrupted her with a smile. "Once it's on my wrist, it's not broken anymore. We'll just call this the original design."
Summer truly hadn't expected Silas to say something like that.
He really was a wonderful person, Summer thought, and a smile broke across her face. "Silas, I'm just glad you like it."
Silas admired the watch, then looked up, his deep eyes settling on Summer. "I love it, and I'm very happy."
This exact scene was witnessed by Xavier.
Xavier's sharp brows drew together tightly, his eyes darkening into a pitch-black storm, and the run-of-show schedule in his hand crumpled slightly under his grip.
"Mr. Sterling, is there anything else we need to look out for?" the manager asked respectfully from the side.
Xavier pulled his gaze away. "No. Go get everything ready."
Xavier turned on his heel and walked away.
Summer had actually noticed Xavier, too, but they were divorced now and practically strangers, so she didn't care.
It wasn't until halfway through the meal that the atmosphere in the restaurant suddenly turned incredibly romantic; someone was proposing in the distance.
"Say yes, say yes!"
"Accept it, accept it!"
No wonder the restaurant was so gorgeously decorated today, overflowing with pink roses. Someone was proposing.
"I do!"
Hearing that familiar voice, Summer looked surprised for a split second and turned her head to check.
Through the crowd, she saw the usually aloof man kneeling on one knee, sliding a ring onto the woman's finger before bowing his head to kiss her hand with absolute devotion.
And at that exact moment.
