Substitute Wife, Genius CEO novel Chapter 370

Reading Xavier's lips, Leo frantically tugged at Summer's sleeve.

Summer patted Leo reassuringly, signaling him not to worry. Xavier couldn't take his custody away.

If Xavier wanted custody, he would have to fight her in court.

But considering his documented infidelity, the fact that his grandfather had physically abused Leo, and that Leo had sustained his life-altering injuries on Sterling property... there was absolutely zero chance Xavier would win custody.

Silas gently patted Leo's shoulder and turned to Summer. "Summer, if you trust them, you're welcome to use the Sinclair Group's legal team."

Xavier's face contorted into something terrifyingly dark, his voice a lethal whip. "This is family business, Silas. Stop poking your nose where it doesn't belong!"

Silas merely offered a loaded smile. "You might want to get your facts straight, Mr. Sterling. You and Summer are divorced. You haven't been 'family' for a long time. And as for me—I'm hardly an outsider."

"Leo calls me Dad. Do you understand?"

What Silas really wanted to say was: *I'm not an outsider. I'm her husband. I am legally bound to her by law.*

Now, he was just waiting for Summer to acknowledge it publicly.

The confrontation was destined to end in ruins.

Silas drove Summer and Leo home.

When the car pulled up, Silas stepped out first. He carefully lifted Leo out of the backseat while the driver unfolded the wheelchair.

He set Leo down gently, then placed Serenity on the boy's lap.

Once Leo was settled, Silas looked up at Summer and asked, "Are you free the night after tomorrow? I have a favor to ask."

Summer thought for a second. "I'm free. What is it?"

"The Sinclair Group is competing for a major contract right now. The client is Raphael Rhodes, the head of the Rhodes Group from Cape Harbor. The night after tomorrow, he's throwing a fifth birthday party for his son."

"Raphael is a man who heavily values family. He prefers doing business with partners who have stable, happy families. I need a plus-one. Would you accompany me?"

Leo chimed in. "Dad Silas, if it's his son's birthday party, you're going to need a son to bring along too."

Silas looked down at him. "Do you want to come to the party, Leo?"

Leo adored Silas.

Silas was mature, emotionally stable, and incredibly patient. Not only was he an elite businessman, but he could also cook.

Leo wanted Silas to be his real father, not just a stand-in.

But for his mom to marry Silas, they needed to spend more time together.

So Leo said, "I want to go. I want to help you win that contract."

He looked up at Summer. "Mom, please say yes?"

Summer smiled and nodded. "Alright."

Leo grinned. "Then we'll work together and help Dad win the contract!"

Meanwhile.

On the drive back, Paige Brooks chauffeured Xavier. Xavier sat in the backseat without saying a word, clearly in a foul mood.
