Tiffany spotted Summer immediately.
Summer walked gracefully in a haute couture gown, her figure stunning. Her makeup was immaculate, and her jewelry caught the light in a dazzling display.
She looked elegant, aristocratic, and completely untouchable.
As Summer walked past, Tiffany opened her mouth to call out, but Summer's icy demeanor forced her to swallow her words.
Silas pushed Leo's wheelchair, and Summer looped her arm through Silas's. The three of them approached Raphael Rhodes, looking exactly like a loving, picture-perfect family.
Standing beside Raphael were three familiar faces: Xavier, Lilith, and Hunter.
The Sinclair Group and the Sterling Group were bitter rivals. Fighting over the same contract was business as usual, so running into them here was hardly a shock.
Summer and Leo kept their expressions perfectly neutral, looking at Xavier as if he were a complete stranger.
Xavier, however, narrowed his eyes. For a fraction of a second, his gaze turned glacial before he forced it back to normal.
Ever since Xavier had rejected Lilith's advances, it had felt like a bone stuck in her throat. The moment she saw Summer, her radar instantly flared.
Out of the corner of her eye, she kept Xavier under close watch.
She didn't miss the displeasure and coldness in his eyes. He only reacted that way because he still cared.
Lilith ground her teeth, seething with hatred, yet her face maintained a flawless, radiant smile without a single crack.
Silas exchanged pleasantries with Raphael and smiled warmly. "This is my wife, Summer, and my son, Leo."
Summer offered a graceful nod. "Mr. Rhodes, hello. It is a pleasure to meet you."
Raphael replied like a true gentleman, "Your wife is stunning. You are a very lucky man, Mr. Sinclair."
Leo politely chimed in. "Hello, Mr. Rhodes."
When Raphael looked at Leo, a brief flash of surprise crossed his eyes, but it vanished quickly, replaced by a kind, warm smile.
He deliberately bent down to meet Leo at eye level, his tone as friendly as an affectionate uncle. "Hello, Leo. May I call you that?"
Wearing his custom-made cochlear implant, Leo nodded with perfect poise. "Yes, you may."
Despite his disabilities, Leo showed absolutely zero signs of insecurity or timidity. He exuded a mature, intelligent aura that seemed far beyond his years.
Raphael's eyes filled with genuine admiration. "Would you like to go play with my son, Archie? He really likes smart, kind older brothers. I'm sure you two will hit it off immediately."
Hunter watched from the sidelines, burning with jealousy. He had greeted Raphael earlier, too, but Raphael had merely glanced down at him with cold, distant politeness.
He hadn't been warm, and he certainly hadn't bent down to speak to him.
Why was this fair?!
