Summer rolled her eyes.
Inside the Sutton living room.
Scarlett pulled a stack of certificates from her bag. "Mrs. Sutton, I am a doctoral graduate from Empire City Medical University. I am here to work, not to participate in some petty housewife drama with you."
"Housewife drama?" Lydia violently hurled her freshly poured tea straight at Scarlett.
Scarlett dodged it smoothly. She didn't cry or scream. Instead, she turned to Bennett and offered genuine advice. "Mr. Sutton, your wife's mental state is incredibly unstable. If you try to recover here, you will inevitably be affected by her outbursts. I highly recommend you find a separate residence suited for your recuperation."
Lydia ground her teeth so hard they nearly shattered. She wanted nothing more than to lunge forward and flay Scarlett alive.
"You cheap bitch! You just started this job and you're already trying to convince us to separate! And you claim you don't have ulterior motives!"
Having cursed Scarlett out, Lydia turned her fury on Bennett, her voice shrill and piercing. "Bennett, you said you weren't disgusted by my face!"
Bennett replied in exhaustion, "I'm not."
Lydia pressed aggressively, "If you aren't, then why did you hire a gorgeous nurse to serve you? What exactly is your intention?"
Lydia was trembling violently, tears streaming down her face from bloodshot eyes.
Lilith supported her mother, her heart aching. "Dad, this nurse cannot stay. Look how upset she's making Mom. I don't care, you have to fire her. I can easily find you a nurse who's a hundred times more professional."
Feeling emboldened by her daughter and son-in-law's support, Lydia's posture stiffened. She screamed, "Bennett, did you hear that? Tell her to get out!"
Bennett's head pounded with a vicious migraine. He rubbed his temples in frustration. Having catered to wealthy benefactors before, Scarlett possessed an extraordinary ability to read the room.
She immediately stepped behind Bennett and began gently massaging his temples. Her voice was incredibly soft. "Mr. Sutton, is the pressure okay? Please let me know if it's too hard or too light."
Scarlett's thoughtfulness, gentle demeanor, and professional care formed a stark contrast to Lydia's unhinged screaming.
Bennett realized that if he gave in now, Lydia would walk all over him in the future, making his life an absolute misery.
He would be living in a waking nightmare. Just the thought of it made his head pound even harder.
Bennett stated firmly, "I am the one who agreed to keep Scarlett. She not only has medical expertise, but she's also trained in massage therapy and nursing. She's perfect for the job."
