Summer sighed softly. "Your stomach is going to hate you later."
Silas smiled. "You can just make me your Recovery Tonic. I'll feel perfectly fine after that."
Watching their intimate banter, the executives understood exactly what was going on.
By the end of the dinner, the banking executives unanimously agreed that the Sutton Group could continue with their original repayment schedules.
The banks would not be calling in the loans early.
Summer prepared to walk the executives out.
Being the sharp businessmen they were, they glanced at the seemingly intoxicated Silas and quickly waved her off. "No need for formalities, Director Vance, please stay. We're all partners here. It looks like Mr. Sinclair had a bit too much. Please take good care of him. We'll show ourselves out."
Summer instructed her assistant to walk the executives out while she stayed behind to look after Silas.
Silas had indeed drank quite a bit tonight, but given his tolerance, he was barely buzzing.
Yet, he fully committed to playing the role of a drunk man.
He slumped lazily back in his chair. His usually immaculate hair fell slightly into his eyes, and his deep, dark eyes were tinged with a faint, seductive red.
He lifted a hand, hooking a finger into his tie to loosen it, and undid the top button of his shirt, exposing his flushed collarbone.
"Do you feel sick?" Summer asked, leaning in closer.
Silas turned his head toward her. "A little."
His usually composed voice was low and raspy, brushing against Summer's ears and sounding unbelievably sexy.
Summer blinked rapidly, awkwardly rubbing her ear.
Silas noticed the reaction, a hint of a smile flashing deep in his dark eyes.
He leaned in even closer, intentionally dropping his voice. "Are you going to make me that Recovery Tonic?"
His voice was even deeper now, laced with a gravelly, almost petulant edge. It was so intoxicatingly attractive it made Summer's heart skip a beat.
"Sit right here. I'll go make it for you right now."
Summer practically fled the private room.
Even after she stepped into the hallway, her heart was still hammering against her ribs, and her cheeks felt unusually warm.
Silas looked down and chuckled softly. He was definitely giving his assistant a massive bonus tomorrow.
He had learned this specific trick from the romance movies his assistant had recommended.
He had even hired a professional vocal coach to teach him how to lower his register and make his voice sound more magnetic and alluring.
It seemed to be working flawlessly.
Summer quickly returned with the Recovery Tonic.
Silas took the cup from her and downed it in large gulps. His sharp Adam's apple bobbed rhythmically with every swallow.
Summer felt too embarrassed to stare, quickly averting her gaze.
Silas insisted on walking Summer to her car, thoroughly instructing her driver to be careful on the road.
