Substitute Wife, Genius CEO novel Chapter 493

The next day.

Xander Sterling visited the Sutton Group in person to discuss a partnership.

Summer Vance brewed tea herself. Xander accepted it with a nod of thanks and explained, "The Sterling Group previously severed ties with the Sutton Group because of Lilith Sutton."

Summer nodded. "I know."

Truthfully, the Sterling Group cutting ties had done Summer a favor.

Otherwise, Dexter Whitmore wouldn’t have found an excuse to propose ousting Lilith.

And she wouldn't have smoothly become the Acting CEO of the Sutton Group.

"Since you're calling the shots here now, there's naturally no reason for us not to collaborate." Xander set down his teacup and handed a document to Summer. "Take a look."

It was the project that had been suspended.

After ironing out the project details, Xander said, "I came to see you today for another reason as well."

Summer looked at him, waiting for him to continue.

Xander looked as though the words were difficult to say.

Summer raised a brow, teasing, "Cat got your tongue?"

Xander let out a soft chuckle. "A little. The old man... he wants to treat you to dinner."

Summer understood immediately. No wonder Xander looked so uncomfortable; he knew she couldn't stand the Sterling family.

But it didn't take a genius to figure out why Carlson Sterling wanted to have dinner with her.

Xavier Sterling was infertile, Xander's health was compromised, and Leo Vance was the only heir of this generation in the Sterling family.

So Carlson, who had always looked down on her, was forced to swallow his pride and seek her out.

Knowing she despised the family, he sent Xander, the only Sterling she didn't hate, bearing the gift of a lucrative project.

It was a classic olive branch.

Xander continued, "The old man found a doctor for Leo. Word is the doctor is quite skilled. Do you want to take Leo to see him?"

Leo had been injured for so long, yet the Sterlings had never once taken the initiative to check on him, let alone arrange a doctor.

In their eyes, Leo had been a useless pawn.

They saw no need to waste energy on him.

Now they were playing nice, but one could never have too many good doctors.

The specialist Carlson found definitely wouldn't be some quack; he had to be a genuine expert.

It wouldn't hurt to make a connection.

Even though Dr. Dominic Knight had diagnosed that Leo's ears could be cured, Summer still wanted an extra layer of reassurance.

She had to admit, Carlson knew exactly how to manipulate people.

But since it was just a dinner, Summer agreed.

The next day, at the restaurant.
