Substitute Wife, Genius CEO novel Chapter 510

Last night she had received word that Xavier went to see Silas, and she was confident the matter would be resolved soon.

Lilith leaned back in her executive chair with a facade of total calm, confidently stating, "Don't worry, it will all be sorted out very soon."

The lead shareholder, Mr. Jameson, asked, "And what exactly is your proposed solution, Boss?"

Curling her lips into a smile, Lilith replied, "My husband."

Mr. Jameson frowned. "Didn't you and Mr. Sterling divorce?"

Lilith smiled sweetly. "Mr. Jameson, married couples bicker and fight all the time. Throwing around the word divorce is perfectly normal. Besides, you can always remarry."

The shareholders in the room were immediately misled. "So you and Mr. Sterling have gotten back together?"

Knowing they had misunderstood, Lilith purposely chose not to correct them, simply maintaining her poised smile.

Her confident reaction only added to the credibility of her claim.

However, if Xavier and Lilith had truly reconciled, why was the Sterling Group actively targeting Zenith Tech?

Lilith wanted to charm the shareholders into leaving, but these were seasoned veterans of the corporate world. They weren't going to be dismissed with a few sweet words.

They insisted that Lilith call Xavier right there and then.

Left with no way out, she dialed his number.

But despite calling several times in a row, she couldn't get through.

The shareholders stared at her grimly, their gazes feeling sharper than freshly honed blades.

Staring at her phone, Lilith suddenly realized what was happening. Her heart plunged into an icy abyss, yet she forced herself to keep smiling, trying to pacify the room.

Mr. Jameson was no fool. He pointed at Paige Brooks and demanded, "Use his phone."

Lilith offered a strained smile. "That won't be necessary. I'll just go find my husband right now."

"Call him!"

Mr. Jameson's tone was sharp and uncompromising, backed by several imposing shareholders standing aggressively behind him.

Cornered, Lilith reluctantly held her hand out to Paige. "Give me your phone."

After a second of hesitation, she hit the dial button. It connected.

She had indeed been blocked!

Just the day before, Zelda had forced Xavier to manually add Lilith's number to his blocklist while she stood over his shoulder.

The shareholders' expressions grew frosty and severe, absolutely refusing to let her leave without a valid explanation.

Pushed to her absolute limit, Lilith dropped the act and exploded, "Back off! I'm going to find him right now!"

Abandoning the angry mob of investors, she scrambled out in sheer panic.

In the car.

"What is his problem?! Blocking me?!" Lilith slammed her fist against the seat in rage.

"Could it have been an accident?" Paige suggested hesitantly.

Lilith glared at him through the rearview mirror. "Didn't you say you personally saw him go find Silas Sinclair last night?!"

Paige nodded. "It's true. I watched him walk into the private room and stay there for over ten minutes before leaving."

"Give me your phone again."
