Lilith panted heavily from the excruciating pain, but upon hearing his words, she let out a derisive sneer.

"Wants something from me?"

The mercenary nodded. "Exactly, Ms. Sutton. Your mother gave you a flash drive. If you want to spare yourself a lot of misery, you'd better hand it over."

Lilith threw her head back and cackled, instantly guessing who was pulling the strings.

That drive contained all of Bennett's dirty secrets.

Despite the brutal shock she had just endured, her stubbornness flared. "Tell your new boss that if they want something, they better show some damn respect! If they don't release me right now, I'll take that drive to my grave!"

The mercenary shrugged. "Looks like you haven't had enough. Turn up the voltage."

Another horrifying scream ripped from her as a terrifying current seized her. Her limbs snapped tight against the restraints, her body trembling uncontrollably as her vision whited out, blood trickling from the corner of her mouth.

"Summer!"

Looking like a vengeful demon with bloodshot eyes, Lilith shrieked viciously, "I know it's you! It has to be you, you bitch! Let me go!"

Miles immediately dialed Summer's number. "Summer, where is Tessa right now?"

Summer set aside the document she was reviewing. "She's overseas on a business trip. Why?"

Miles's tone grew gravely serious. "Try calling her right now and see if you can reach her."

Hearing the urgency in his voice and knowing it involved Tessa, Summer didn't waste a second, immediately dialing her friend's cell.
