Substitute Wife, Genius CEO novel Chapter 76

And yet, that man blatantly betrayed her.

However, Jude actually really liked her son. The kid had character.

He straight-up called his scumbag dad 'Mister'.

He had the guts to casually disown his billionaire father. Impressive!

Jude patted Leo's head and said, "It's fine. I'll be your dad from now on."

Summer jumped in shock, slamming her foot on the gas. The car jerked forward, nearly rear-ending the vehicle in front of them.

Jude clicked his tongue. "Summer, what are you getting worked up for? I said I'd be his dad, not your husband."

Summer was speechless.

She glared at Jude through the rearview mirror. "Who's getting worked up?! Do you think everyone is desperate for a giant man-child? You scared me, okay? Casually adopting a son—are you never planning to find a girlfriend?"

After scolding him, Summer looked at Leo and corrected him seriously. "Leo, no doing that next time, alright? It causes unnecessary misunderstandings. Think about it. What if this Jude guy had a son of his own? How would his kid feel hearing you call him Dad? He'd be just as heartbroken and sad as you."

"I'm sorry, Mom," Leo apologized earnestly.

"It's totally fine," Jude said, casually slapping Leo on his small shoulder. "It just so happens your buddy Jude here doesn't have a son. Becoming a dad with zero effort? Sounds like a win to me."

Summer was speechless again. Becoming a dad with zero effort? That was absurd.

Jude had a youthful, hyperactive personality and refused to be tamed.

Ignoring Summer, he turned straight to Leo. "Want me to be your Cool Dad? The Wild Dad will look after you from now on. I might not be as loaded as your scumbag dad, but my family does alright. More importantly, your Wild Dad is handsome and a certified genius. I was the national valedictorian a couple of years ago. I can race cars, fly planes, paraglide, drive yachts, play golf, ski, ride horses... Basically, your Wild Dad knows how to do a ton of cool stuff. I can teach you and take you out to play."

Leo's eyes lit up. He pulled out a third-grade advanced math workbook. "Wild Dad, I'm stuck on this problem. Can you explain it to me?"

Jude took the workbook and scanned it. "Not bad. You're taking after your Wild Dad already, studying third-grade stuff. Watch and learn. Wild Dad's got you covered."

Jude casually replied, "My son, Leo Montgomery."

Julian Hawthorne happened to be dining there. He had paused when he saw Leo, only to hear the most explosive statement imaginable.

"Damn it!" Julian cursed aloud. "How dare that woman do this!"

Just then, Summer parked and walked into the restaurant.

Seeing her, Julian stormed over and aggressively dragged her toward a secluded section of the garden.

Summer frowned in disgust and yanked her arm free. "What are you doing?"

"What am I doing?" Julian sneered mockingly. "Summer, you definitely found out I was eating here, didn't you? You brought that toy boy here just to put on a show in front of me, hoping I'd tell Xavier so he'd get jealous!"

"Let me tell you, Summer, making Leo call some random guy 'Dad' was bad enough, but now you've changed his last name! You've seriously set a new record for desperate jealousy. It's ridiculous! Xavier marrying you was the worst luck of his life!"
