192 Visiting The Dragon Abyss Clan
The next morning, Elmer appeared at the dining table with dark circles under his eyes.
Rafe glanced at him and raised an eyebrow. “Didn’t sle
Elmer nodded, his gaze drifting toward Dora.
Dora was sipping her scooping food, a faint smile tugging at the corners of her lips.
Lioren’s feline ears perked up as he looked at Dora. “What did you do to him?”
Dora murmured quietly to Lioren, “I didn’t do anything.
“I just said a few words.”
Lioren narrowed his eyes.
‘Yeah, right,‘ Lioren thought to himself.
Elmer kept his head down, eating quietly, his ears burning red.
He’d spent the whole night with his mind full of naughty thoughts.
He couldn’t sleep at all.
But that rush of a racing heart… honestly, he kind of liked it.

After breakfast, Dora put down her plate, her eyes drifting across the four beast mates gathered at the table.
“Today,” Dora announced, “I’m going with Clive to pay a visit to the Dragon Abyss Clan.”
Elmer’s white beast ears perked right up, and his tired eyes suddenly lit up. “The Dragon Abyss Clan?
“You mean the one that’s hidden away in the dense forest outside the city?”
Dora nodded.
“I’m coming too!” Elmer blurted out, his hand shooting up.
“There’s no city barrier outside the walls.
“During the wet season, the decay and parasites get really bad.
“I gotta go to protect you!”
Lioren’s feline ears twitched, and his tail swayed gently. “I’m coming too.
“We still don’t know if the Dragon Abyss Clan is an ally or an enemy. What if it’s a trap?”

Rafe pushed up his gold–rimmed glasses, a thoughtful glint flashing in his blue eyes.
He said, “Shine Henson is not someone you can easily figure out.
“If he’s inviting Clive over, you can bet he’s got some kind of plan.
“I’m coming with you guys.”
Clive glanced at Dora, his eyes silently asking for her opinion.
Dora smiled. “Alright, let’s all go together.
Lucian isn’t home, but with the four of you protecting me, that’s more than enough.”
Seven blinked up at her. “Master, can I come too?”
Dora patted Seven’s head. “You stay here and keep an eye on the place.
“If Mindy and other females drop by, make sure to say hi for me.”
Seven’s big eyes dimmed for a second, but then they lit up again.
“Okay, Master!
“I’ll guard the house!”
The moment the hovercar crossed the city limits, everyone felt a wave of oppressive pressure hit them.
The wilds during the wet season were a whole different world compared to the city.
The air was thick and sticky, reeking of something sharp and corrosive.
Outside the energy shield, swarms of mutated parasites clung to the glowing barrier, writhing and gnawing, their hissing and scraping sounds enough to make anyone’s skin crawl.
Off in the distance, the shadows of massive mutated alien beasts occasionally flickered past.
“Good thing we had it modified,” Rafe said, sitting in the passenger seat.
He watched the parasites crawling all over the energy barrier outside the window.
“If this was a regular hovercar, it would’ve been chewed through by now.”
Clive gripped the steering wheel with both hands, his eyes focused intently on what lay ahead.
The hovercar flew steadily above the dense forest canopy. Whenever a massive mutated alien beast tried to approach, the energy shield surrounding the vehicle would repel them with ease.
Dora sat in the middle of the back seat, with Elmer on her left and Lioren on her right.

The two of them crowded her protectively, like bodyguards on either side.
Dora, squished in the middle, was both exasperated and amused.
“Can you guys give me a little space?” she asked.
“Nope,” they both said in unison, then glared at each other.
‘Seriously?‘ Dora thought, speechless.
“Dora, are you cold?” Elmer asked, his white beast ears twitching with concern.
“Need a blanket? I’ve got one right here.”
“I’m not cold,” Dora replied, shaking her head.
“Hungry? I brought some treats Seven made,” Elmer offered.
“Not hungry,” Dora replied.
“Thirsty? I brought some hot coffee, specially made for you,” Elmer added.
“Elmer,” Dora interrupted, smiling as she gave his head a gentle pat.
“I’m not thirsty, not hungry, and not cold. Really, I’m fine, don’t worry,” she reassured him.
Elmer’s ears were practically dancing, and his cheeks flushed pink.
Lioren watched from the side, his tail curling gently around Dora’s wrist, just staking his claim..
Elmer shot him a glare.
Lioren just acted like he didn’t see a thing.
From the front seat, Clive called out, “Mutated alien beasts approaching.
“Three of them, all at Pinnacle Level 6.”
Rafe had already rolled down the window, a cold glint flashing in his blue eyes.
“I’ll handle the two on the left,” he said.

An icy blue light shot out from the window, splitting into two razor–sharp ice blades that sliced straight toward the two mutated alien beasts charging from the left.
The beasts didn’t even have time to dodge before the ice blades struck, howling in pain as they crashed to the ground.
Almost at the same time, Clive’s lightning shot out from the sunroof, frying the mutated alien beast to the right until it was nothing but a charred husk.

Elmer’s shield wrapped around the entire hovercar, keeping any mutated alien beast that tried to get close a bay.
Lioren didn’t make a move, but his wind–type supernatural ability was constantly sweeping the area.
Any mutated alien beast that tried to ambush them would be detected instantly.
Dora sat in the hovercar, watching everything play out, and couldn’t help but feel a rush of pride.
These were her beast mates.
Their teamwork was so smooth, nothing could touch them.
“Let’s clean up the bodies,” Dora said.
Clive lowered the hovercar, and Rafe used his ice–type supernatural ability to freeze the three mutated alien beast corpses solid.
Lioren swept them up with a gust of wind and sent them straight into the Spatial Realm portal Dora had opened.
The whole thing took less than two minutes.
Elmer blinked. “Dora, we’re getting really good at cleaning up the bodies now.”
Dora smiled and nodded. “That’s what you call perfect synergy.”
With a smile, Dora pulled five cups of warm Coffee Latte out of her Spatial Realm.
“Here, have some to recharge your crystal energy,” she said.
Elmer took the coffee, his eyes lighting up.
“Dora, this is my absolute favorite!” he exclaimed.
The hovercar cruised above the treetops, an endless stretch of forest rolling out beneath them: mutated alien
