Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 1263

When you get busy, time just slips away without you noticing. It was already past ten at night, but Dennis didn’t even think about sending her home. He just wanted to keep her with him for the whole night, and honestly, Camila didn’t want to leave either.

They worked on the leaf art until it was really late. Camila only realized how tired she was when her body started to ache, so they finally called it a night and went to rest together.

The next morning, Dennis jumped right into putting the artwork together. He worked so quickly, and with way more skill than Camila could ever manage. She helped out where she could, mostly just watching him as he worked.

She had seen him paint before, and she knew how talented he was. This leaf painting was no different. Every piece he touched seemed to come alive in his hands. He was honestly born to do this. Whatever he did, he made it look magical. Just watching him made her heart race.

Camila watched him with so much admiration that Dennis couldn’t help but notice.

He reached for her, pulled her close, and kissed her deeply. With a soft laugh, he said, “Camila, don’t tease me like that, or I’ll never get this finished.”

She nudged his nose with hers, her eyes shining as she smiled. “What can I say? My Dennis is just too attractive. I could stare at you all day and it still wouldn’t be enough…”

Her words made his eyes darken. He clearly wanted more, but in the end, he kept himself in check.

He gave her a gentle bite on the lip, pretending to be annoyed. “You’re lucky I have to behave right now. Otherwise, you’d be in so much trouble with me.”

Camila just laughed even harder, wrapping her arms around his slim waist and giving him an innocent look. “What? I’m just telling the truth. I really, really like you…”

She loved being with him. She loved watching him, leaning on him, never wanting to let go.

Dennis couldn’t resist her when she was like this. He just looked at her, full of affection. Getting confessed to out of the blue like this made him happier than he could ever admit.

The whole morning drifted by without them noticing. Once Dennis had finished half the artwork, he took Camila to the institute for her check-up.

Aaron was getting more and more anxious just thinking about it.

Dennis didn’t disagree. He nodded. “Camila and I will get the marriage license first. We don’t have to rush the ceremony. Once she’s feeling better, we’ll have a proper wedding. I won’t let Camila settle for anything less.”

Even with Dennis’s reassurance, Aaron still felt it was all happening too fast. He wondered if Dennis was pushing things because he was worried about Ms. Davis’s health… but he didn’t dare say it out loud. He knew how serious Camila’s situation was, and nobody wanted to talk about it.

Aaron had seen their relationship from the start. He honestly just wanted the best for both of them.

After a short pause, Aaron changed the subject. “Well, at the very least, when you go to get your license, you should both wear something formal. You’re going to take a photo for the certificate, and that’s important. You can’t change it easily, so it needs to be a good one. All of your suits are custom made overseas, and the outfits for the engagement and wedding are already arranged. I’ll have them shipped over right away. They should arrive by the day after tomorrow at the latest.”

Dennis didn’t argue at all. “You’re right, we can’t be careless about this. I’ll leave it to you.”
